This place looks nice from the outside but on the first night here the hotel lost power and Internet and tv service. There were alarms going off in the hallways till 1 am. The hotel staff was very rude, especially the manager. They weren't able to provide an ETA for when service would come back on which effected my ability to work. Internet service was also spotty and slow, not good for business travelers. Please beware of this place.

What is not to love about the Michaelangelo Hotel and Apartments? I'll concede what it may lack in "modern " facilities, it more than makes up for any shortfall there in a conservative statement of saying, undoubtably the friendliest and most professional customer service I've ever experienced . From the concierge to housekeeping, one and all go over and above expectations.
There is no lack of choice when it comes to dining, shopping or just hanging out; as The Santon City Shopping Mall is literally at your doorstep. Santon City has been undergoing a complete overhaul and though still in progress , it can stand tall with its comprehensive variety of stores, both chain and independent . It caters to the budget conscience and your label shoppers with the Diamond walk newly refurbished with ALL the big names. Louis Vuitton, Prada, Armani, Gucci, Cartier and so the list goes on!
As we have been staying in the Michaelangelo Towers for an extended period of time, we've become to feel and are treated almost like " locals" , as I have MY girls at The Bread Basket and am "tight" with a no of customer service gals at Woolworths. Even the sales assistants down at Checkers are familiar with me now and I'm ALWAYS greeted with a smile and salutation. I've got store rewards cards from Clicks where I almost daily amuse them with my requests and odd phrases. I've developed a " relationship with my now hairdresser, Tasha ( or is it Natasha? Still get them mixed up😀) at Franco's International Hairdressing Salon. I've received impeccable NON hustle advice and service from Red Square Perfume House and Metropolitan Cosmetics. Friendly and cheerful customer service from all the staff at CNA and Vodacom. At Parc Fermé , get Mike to hook you up with one of his innovative twists on a Gin and Tonic:) . For Indian you can't get anything more authentic than Bukhara. Omg The tandoori mushrooms are to die for ! Although we've never purchased anything from Verte, an upmarket but reasonable menswear store. It's situated on the second level of the Mall, right at the entrance to the Michaelangelo Towers, every single one of the staff there has become a "friend " . Every day , if they aren't already standing at the stores entrance, upon seeing me leaving or returning to the Towers, the girls all come and give me a hug and we exchange our daily chit chats. There's no expectations of anything beyond that, which is refreshing in this day and age.
At Renaissance Spa one can easily get spoilt for an entire day. Sarah, one of the finest beauticians I've been fortunate enough to encounter , delivers as promised ! I ask for a deep tissue therapeutic massage - wow! I'm working out in the gym now like I was 20 years ago! Amazing! As all the staff are there, complimenting the impeccable facility.
So when you stay at the Michaelangelo , be it the hotel or the apartments, you want for nothing and believe me you won't want to leave You've found your home away from home !

Stunning upmarket restaurant and facilities. Walking distance from Sandton and basically part of Nelson Mandela Square. The service is good too and the food great. Try their lentil soup starter.
