Thank you thank you thank you! We came to The Hussar Grill in Rondebosch, after searching desperately for local restaurants that served Ostrich (why is it so hard to find it these days). Anyway, the restaurant was so quaint and full of character and atmosphere, the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough. Sadly they had run out of Ostrich, but after explaining our disappointment and my desperation for Ostrich steak, they called the Constantia restaurant and pre ordered for us and gave us complimentary wine and cocktails.
Upon arriving at Constantia we were given such a warm welcome, Cathrine, who served us was amazing and so attentive, the food did not disappoint - honestly haven’t had better Ostrich and my partner was crazy about his steak! To top it off they gave us a chocolate desert cocktail on the house! I have never had such wonderful and thoughtful service alongside such amazing food! Can’t recommend this place or its staff enough 12/10! Can’t wait to come back again :)response / report this review -

What a great friendly easy going place for a meal out. I had divine fillet steak with bernaise sauce. We sat at the bar as we hadn’t booked and it was a good thing to sit at the bar. Excellent barman who made a great mojito to go with our meal and continuously refreshed my glass of water seamlessly. Then to top off a lovely evening and great meal said barman gave us two free warm chocolate vodka cocktails with cold double thick cream. Heaven in a glass. Great place. Book a table or even better yet book a place at the bar and ask Desmond the barman for his special cocktails! Yum!!

Over the many times I have been to this steakhouse, it maintains its number one spot. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to help, inform and give you the best dining experience possible. With a wide variety of wines and drinks, the Hussar gives the best steak meal one can look for.

I am not a meat person , but because of the steak i had at this place that has slightly changed, the steaks speaks for themselves mouthwatering professionally done exactly the way you ask, medium rare, rare, or well done. I also had a massive salad l could not finish. Although the place is quite small and cozy makes you feel like u in a European restaurant. Absolutely amazing place to eat out. Definitely going back.

Service was prompt and food was great! Waiter was aware of the fact that we had a show at the Baxter and accommodated us accordingly! Thoroughly enjoyed the olives and potato chips on the table upon arrival!

Great for lunch or dinner. Also does take aways. Large emphasis on meats (obviously) and they do it well. Don't come here if you don't want a classic steak house experience

For YEARS the grid lines of my steaks would be burnt & bitter. But in recent times they seems to have reigned it in and I have had excellent meals there the last few visits. Very festive environment (or maybe that's only us!), worth a visit. PS Service is always good.

This is another update. I came here on my birthday with a group of 9 people. This hassar grill never disappoints me! The service was fast and friendly waiter. It was a Friday night and the place was packed and we got all our food within 10-15minutes after we ordered! Food was excellent but my best will still have to be the hog ribs!

What a treat of a place! Our 1st visit to this branch if Hussar Grill. We had a lovely meal with my husband and son. The waitress was friendly, food was as good as we are used to in Durban. Nice vibe with lots of regulars apparent from interactions with staff. Highly recommended.

Great service!
We had to grab a quick bite before a show at the Baxter, unfortunately traffic made the quick bite even quicker. The staff guided us through their menu and the manager tried to accommodate us as best as possible, which I must say, he did very well.

The food, ambience and service here are all great. I had a medium rare fillet steak, which was cooked perfectly. The pepper sauce was also very good. Despite being in a student area, this restaurant is definitely more upmarket and is therefore quite expensive

Amazing restaurant, beautifully decorated with a lovely ambiance. 5 star service from staff and great meals. From starters, mains and dessert. perfect. Steaks are worth going there for. A must for all meat lovers.
