Lovely place, perfect tranquility. Breakfast, out of this world. The rooms were lovely, and wood was supplied daily (it is very cold there).

Outdated but cute b&b. The staff is kind and the breakfast basic ;). The bathroom in our room had no view blocking window curtain

Staff were lovely and friendly, rooms neat and clean. Manager is extreemly friendly and helpful. Spa is run well and nice and quaint. Would definately come back.

The sheets haven’t been cleaned from the night before of my bed and the bed of my parents. Off course this could happen, but it kind off ruined our night sleep. The owner is a very friendly and welcoming host which helped us out perfectly. The rooms are a little bit old and have an old smell.

I would like to complain about the SPA unprofessional conduct. First i struggle to get a quote from the place. Then the prices that was sms toe me was wrong according to the invoice send to me the following day. To make everything worst the first mail that was send to me for the invoice the invoice was not attached and I needed to phone and mail again for it. When invoice did arrived the invoice\quote was wrong as discussed on the phone a couple of times and on the sms sent to Angela. When queried to fix the quote it was indicated i will receive the updated quote in the next 5 min. It is almost 3 hours later still no updated quote.
So Iam going to cancel my booking for the weekend of the 6th October. But I will let people know about the unprofessional conduct of this place and I will complain about this place on sosial media.

Must have been a great guesthouse a few years back, but although the manageress is friendly, and trying the price in relation to the product do not match. Incorrectly thought money due on check-in, bed not in great shape, squeak squeak squeak, kitchen has nothing in it, a fridge that sounds like it has chickens inside it (had to turn off at night because of the noise), towels with dirty marks on them, no sport channels on DSTV, no options for breakfast, weak filter coffee, yoghurt served in their plastic containers with kellogs corn flakes as the choice, old pieces of equipment stored in the parking area. In short, either reduce price and make breakfast an optional extrain line with what is on offer OR live up to potential, and pay more attention to the detail.

this was one of the worst / weirdest experiences of my life. Do not go to this place! Food not edible, rooms not cleaned, hard to find. At the end we were laughing but hyell it was bad

My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend at the Rose. The welcome was friendly, staff were always on hand and helpful. The food 2x bfast, spa lunch and champers, and dinner, were superb. The morning at the spa was relaxing, enjoyable and well orchestrated.

To Ignas, Maria and staff, will definetly see you again.

After driving 3 hours from Johannesburg and after booking in we got told by the owner to get out as we had not booked. The owner refused to look at email confirmations and said I confirm not you. I had paid in advance for three nights and he offered me one as he said he was booked the following day. He was extremely rude and threatening and eventually ordered us off his property. He said he does not care who I tell. He is also advertising this as four star rated accommodation but it is run down, has dirty mats and carpets. The bath is rusty and the bathroom shelf is falling off the wall. The bedding is old. I have since been informed by SA Tourism that the rating has not been renewed since 2010. Shocking!!!
