Worst guest house ever for me, breakfast was bad. rooms are smelly it was just a horrible experience. I had to pay R300 deposit in case I break something, nobody told me about this when I booked.

This is a very bad place to stay at we stayed there for a week it was horrible i will not recomend any one to stay there they are crooks going to send te health department there and the grading counsel there

It was the first time I had make a booking at The Crescent Guesthouse and it was the most horrific experience I had ever encountered.

We walked in there at around 10am after a 6 hour drive from Johannesburg, we knew we could only check in after 12:30 and we were ok with that just wanted to let the guesthouse know that we were here and that we'd be around also silently hoping that we could check in after our exhausting drive down to Durban.

The lady at the front desk came out wearing a tracksuit, her hair wasn't brushed and morning slippers. Our welcome wasn't what we had expected. She explained that we couldn't check in as someone else was checking out and that they would be cleaning the room. We were ok with that. We came back at around 1 to check in. She took us to our room and I was let down by what I was looking at in comparison to what was on their website.

I told my husband I could tolerate it as long as the room wasn't dirty and not surprising it was in a state.

The cutlery and crockery was dirty, the curtain rail in the bedroom was loose it fell off as I opened the curtain. The sofas had stains on them, the bathroom wall was horrid. Our bedroom walls was dirty. The fridge, stove, oven, toaster and kettle looked like it had never been used or washed ever!

I requested a refund and the lady who helped us said that she couldn't refund us. I explained to her that we aren't staying and want our money back. She called another lady named Mrs Samuels, who was none the better in fact she was worse. She called us names, she yelled at us, she accused us of driving a stolen car, she attached my husband and she threatened us that she was from Cape Town and we would not see the end of her as this is just beginning.

I am seriously horrified by my experience at this place and have not received my money back.
