I'm torn about this review. The staff were incredibly nice. But also very slow. And my food, butternut squash pasta, was a complete disaster - it was an overcooked lump if tagliatelle drowned in cheese with chunks of overcooked butternut. Hopefully other dishes are better.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here - and the house wine - which is the only wine you can buy by the glass, and what a delicious, generous glass it was! Everything we ate was generously portioned and delicious - even the pudding on what was then, two very full stomachs! Highly recommend - it's worth the money.

What should I say, I've had an African chicken Curry which was quite meaty but delicious. My girlfriend made a wrong order - I liked it she didn't - so she ordered pasta with a tomato meatball sauce: the sauce was sweeter than ketchup and the meat raw. That's an experience you can call disappointed. We asked for the bill - the pasta was not on it - and right before I swiped my credit card the boss showed up and she told us that we do not have to pay. Nothing.
"I want to have fully satisfied customers"
She said.
We said, Wow!
1 star for the pasta but big 5 for my meat and their definition of service.

This place was recommended by the Africo Camp site manager where we were staying. As per him this is one of the best restaurants in the town. We were a group of five and really
liked the food. The staff was very friendly and polite and the place was packed so would definitely recommend making a reservation before going there.

The food is amazing there's no doubt about that. However, there appears to be a large disproportionate amount per item on the menu. There were three of us in my group and we all ordered different things. The portions were very small on some plates and quite large on the others. Also, our server was lacking in attendance and wasn't seen for 20 mins each time. We were the only ones there! We had to ask for the check twice.

Very cozy atmosphere. The food was exellent and the service even better. In fact we (party of 9) all agreed it was our best experience in ZA since we arrived, thanks to Marlene, who made as feel at home!!

The atmosphere of the restaurants was amazing, beautiful vibes. The The waitress who served us, Diana, was amazing and very helpful. The food was delicious especially the chicken curry and the lamb curry. It was very flavorful and the spices brought the food to life. Overall, these three things contributed to my rating of the restaurant. A pleasant evening spent with family and friends.

The best ostrich stake I've had thus far. Beautiful atmosphere inside a historic building. Excellent service, a good selection of wines. Definitely a must-try when in oudtshoorn

You book in advance for Christmas lunch at 13h00 Then get a phonecall to confirm then when you get there they say they are not open in the day only at night. What a bad image for a nice place

Sadly worst restaurant experience within weeks of travelling South Africa. A voucher of free glass of wine from the hotel brought me there. Service was friendly but management dodgy: no prices on menue, even not for softdrinks, food for mediocre quality by far too high: a coke costs twice as much as in other places in town, vegetables were overcooked and covered with tasteless fatty sauce. On the neighbouring table people went away completely angry after waiting for food for an hour. Next to it there are far better and cheaper options, e.g. Nostalgie
