Greater enjoyment is derived from travelling via the Montagu Pass as Herold Wines then becomes the reward at the end of an adventurous journey. The wine tasting experience is memorable and of a good quality. Top this up with drinking in the beautiful natural environment, enjoying a scrumptious meal at the restaurant, stock up on the most enjoyed wines and "Bob is your Uncle".

2km on the dirt road from herold and then another 2km on the farm dirt road. Fine for cars with low geound clearance.

Tasting gets done in the cellar and there are a few tables you can sit at. The winemaker/owner helped us and was extremely friendly. Tasting fee of R40 for 6 wines is waived when purchasing a bottle. Bottles range from R60 (rose) to R140 (pinot noir).

Restaurant has a light meal menu with burger and lovely toasted sandwiches served on fresh farm loaf. Great service and overall exceeded our expectations!

A must visit if you are in the area!

Such a wonderful little find! So beautiful and comfortable. Great for a wine tasting and a light lunch. Lovely staff and a beautiful setting. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Stunning setting, delicious wines and such warm hospitality!! A must visit if you are staying in George and you have to try the amazing cheese boards while wine tasting!! An overall fabulous experience!

An experience that can only be described as surreal.
Situated well behind the outeniqua mountains, the small winery boasts an intimately calming experience. Separated from the usual city noises one can find this experience very relaxing.
The wine is great and the owner takes great care in his business, caring for every aspect personally, including the overall wellbeing of their staff. This makes for a genuinely soul cleansing experience at this humble location.

Definitely a must visit!!
