The place looks amazing but the food does not meet the expectations of its perceived luxury status. Im sure with time this should changed. Will be back in a couples of years.

Very romantic and beautiful situation. The spa was great and breakfast and dinner food was good.
However, management was poor and service consequently was very poor and lacked professionalism.
A lot more attention to detail is necessary and more staff training required.response / report this review -

Completely disappointed. I contacted the restaurant about two months ago to find out if they would be open on 1 January, because a lot of restaurants aren’t. And I was assured that they would be open- so I made a booking. This was extra special because it was my partners birthday dinner.
On the morning of the dinner I receive an sms to confirm the dinner and an email reminder with options to change the reservation or the cancel. Three hours before dinner my reservation is cancelled and I receive a phone call where I’m told that it is cancelled. With no reason at all! I was also told in the email that they requested a deposit from me, but that was not true. Why would you request a deposit, and then tell me that the restaurant is not opening???
Very disappointed with this establishment, you’re supposed to be the best in the area.response / report this review -

We attended the Summerfields Christmas market. The market was disappointing, goods on offer pricey. Limited choice of food. The ambience was refreshing. Would do the Christmas market again, for the ambience and entertainment. More choices are needed.less pricey, home-made articles and more food options. No Chinese goods.

Amazing romantic, peaceful and tranquil environment. Perfect for couples. Food is absolutly divine. Farm is amazing. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view and arsty vibe due to cool and chic artwork. Fresh vegetables from the gardens that can be seen from the deck really make a huge, fresh difference in the meals. Presentation is top class! The dessert I had was really interesting.

Summerfields Rose Retreat went out of their way to make our stay special. We chose the retreat for our wedding night stay over because it just bursts out ROMANTIC. The scenery is gorgeous, surrounded by lush greenery and the Sabie river flowing past your room. The food was prepared superbly!! We came back rather late from our wedding festivities, as we arrived to our room it was lit up. The bath was overflowing with bubbles, petals and candles. It was such a treat after I danced my feet of the whole night.

I can't express how amazed we are from this place! I haven't been to a better hotel which combines piecefullness, unique vibe and great service and food! The rooms are unique as you feel you are resting in a tree in the midde of the forest hearing thr floawing water of the river.We were welcomed so warm for our honeymoon(photos below) and the staff made us feel as it was our wedding this day with the dinner table decorsted eith rose leaves two nights in a row. The spa is another unique experience, totally worth having a long massage right next to the river (we had two for two days) hank you Summerfields Rose retreat, we are coming back! Amazing place with amazing waitors and waitresses ! The diner here is divine as well as breakfast. You should definitely enjoy a spa over there or stay a night in the beautiful and luxurous tents ! Prefect place for coupes

Beautiful fruit trees and landscapes. The riverside is a magical place even to walk by. Definitely worth a visit.
