  They did not manage to auction my goods. I went to collect them on 14 January (prior arrangement)when I got there they forgot I was coming and could not give me my items . I keep asking them to return my goods but get no response.
  I’m wondering if they have not pocketed the money for themselves. I’m fuming.

  If I could give zero stars I would - shocking service, communication and extortionate shipping quotes for a small piece of art up from Cape Town (ZAR 2,000). Avoid buying from them.

  I would like to strongly advise anyone thinking they are going to get a true and honest valuation on their family heirlooms, as they are in the unfortunate position to have to sell due to Covid or other constraints. Stephan Welz & Co trading as Sothebys, used to be the go-to Auction house that had experts in every department, with compassion and thought, not just their commission but no not today. Their coins, jewellery, military, and other so-called experts are found wanting. Please rather go overseas to get your valuations or better. If you dare disagree with the valuator you get testy Whatsapps and your family 'emotional heirlooms' thrown at you as though you are the criminal. I will inform Sothebys in London to remove their name from this company.
  
  As they say in Africa, don't smear fat in the eyes.
