The customer service I received from Gershon, was just outstanding. Being from Durban and not having the chance to see or test ride the bike (Full Suspension 500W bafang eMTB), he was able to answer all of my questions and made sure I knew exactly what to expect. Decided to take a chance with a bike I haven't seen, because, while the bike was on special, it was priced around 20k less than other folding bikes with similar specs. Glad I did The bike is AWESOME. Feels completely solid (you will forget it folds in half). Gearing and braking is smooth and works well. The bike comes 90% assembled, and the remaining assembly (fitting on the steering bar, front wheel, tightening the nuts and bolts, etc.) is easy enough to do if you already have some experience with bikes. The bike is bigger than I expected. I'm able to ride it comfortably at 1.83m. Very happy customer :)
If you want a good e-bike or scooter this is the place to go!
I wasn’t sure exactly how to approach the review process. The biggest problem here being that if you have never been on an electric scooter before, it's kind of hard to convey exactly how better or worse certain aspects are. Anyway, we’ve bought 2 scooters for the kids and they love scooting around with it.
Overall opinion:
The scooter is excellently priced option with a 25KM max speed and range of up to 30KM on a charge - we use the scooter within the estate and this is more then enough power and range.
As for braking, you have a rear disc brake that works smoothly - again it it more than enough for the speeds you’ll be cruising at on this one.
You can adjust handle bars easily and overall it’s a comfortable ride.
Just like most other scooters in this class, the scooter folds down, though not the best design out there in terms of both ease of use and stress on individual components.
If I had to point out some areas that could use some work, one would be the steering handlesbars. I do appreciate they can be screwed in and out quickly and easily for transportation. But, on the flip side, the components feel cheap quality. I can't really say I like how the throttle-button combination feels. You can use the buttons to choose 1 of 3 speed modes. The current one gets indicated by a symbol on the display.
For lights, you do get one on the front of the scooter, it is perfectly usable and decent. I also like that it is angled in a proper way to actually shine a fair bit in front of the vehicle, instead of a few cm from the front tyre.
The Alice Electric Folding Aluminium Scooter resides in what I would refer to as the entry-level of electric scooters. The best way I can explain it is definitely a grade above a toy and actually good enough for commutes. And for this price, it’s a bargain!
HiFinally getting to that review, soo sorry for taking so long.
I am the proud owner of an Alice ebike. I absolutely LOVE it. Due 2 my age 😃 and health problems, my riding days were coming 2 an end but after getting my ebike I am zipping around and keeping up with the youngsters again. Hills are now a breeze and I'm riding way longer and and going home less tired. It was my best investment ever, don't hesitate to go out and get yourself an ebike and see what a difference it makes
I am 69 yrs young 😃😃😃
Thank you, my day is made 😃 can't stress enough what a difference it has made 2 my riding. My husband 73yrs has had a triple heart by-pass and is zipping round with me on his Alice bike as well
Great Bikes been riding mine now for 9 months now, never had so much fun.
