To my surprise my stay was very pleasant. The hotel had quite a makeover with a new bar and restaurant. It's not 5 star but great value for money.

The service here is bad, staff is so incompetent. The first time we went upon arrival the conference room was not ready, they had forgotten that we made a booking. The guy who was asked to prepare the conference room was complaining all the way, their speakers were not working. What a nightmare.

So we thought we it was just a mistake as people do make mistakes, i booked again and i must say it was not a mistake. The staff is just incompetent, they take time to respond to emails you must always call them.

I felt at home here. Very, very clean and all the facilities you would need to make your stay comfortable. Ideal for stop-overs or work trips.

I rate this establishment within the context of its star rating and budget category. You will not find 5 star valets and porters at the door or marble bathrooms.

However for its category the hotel is great value for money. The staff is friendly and very helpful and the meals served are homely and tasty. My colleague really loved the beef stew and although I follow a vegetarian diet the staff were quick to accommodate me by doubling up my portion of the potato bake and made me a fresh salad to go with it.

The rooms are very clean and bedding and pillows in good condition - this is something I always struggle with at budget hotels and I was pleasantly surprised.

They have a very nice garden outside the restaurant, protected by a gazebo. We hadn't seen this before and really enjoyed sitting out there this time.

I left my Apple charger in the room and rang up the next day. I spoke to Jan the owner and he was friendly and posted it back to me on the same day.

When we travel to Welkom again I will ask to be booked into Stanville Inn again.

Friendly people with home-cooked food. Everything was in place and up to standard. Rooms were very neat & tidy. Noticeable, they did not try and sell themselves as something they were not. Every once in while we drive through Welkom for business. Stanville Inn, you will see us again!
