The iconic Spice Emporium in central Durban has for decades provided good quality spices from India. Now they also bring to us a taste of North Indian “street food”. Not to be seen in a derogatory manner, street food culture of India is vast, popular and delicious. Quick, simple, made fresh and hot the items on sale will tantalise your taste buds and satisfy your hunger. Highly recommended to both Durban locals and travelers – it is a taste of India right here in Durban.
One of the best store to get mist Indian spices as well as dhalls, oils, baking ingredients, prayer goods, dishes, rice, nuts, utensils, incense, and a whole lot more.
A must visit for everyone.
You can also sit down and have a meal or ear on the go.
Service is good. Helpful staff. Undercover and street parking available depending on the day and time you visiting.
One of the best and most popular spice joints in Durban. Clean with an ethnic Indian feel. Enjoy authentic Indian treats at the mini restaurant in-store.
Great place to get proper Indian cuisine. For all your ingredients to prepare your authentic Indian food or to buy some. They even have panie puree which you find on the streets of India. Not forgetting you can buy thumbs up cool drink. You can even find a tikka oven here.
They had my hot sauce4 stars instead of 5..only the huge bottlenot my medium size bottle!
Good quality products imported from India. Shop is always clean and staff are super pleasant. Prices are reasonable and suggest buying stuff in bulk rather than minimum quantities. Nice to see a diverse range of people shopping at this store.
Well stocked. Wide variety of merchandise. Peasant assistants who readily offer help and advice about how to enhance .
All the spices you need and more with friendly service, only problem area and parking you do not feel safe but the store it self is lovely
There are very few places where as an Indian you can find everything you need under 1 roof. Always a favourite for me, most especially this branch. The restaurant gives you an Indian experience and the food is reasonably priced and so full of authentic indian flavour.
A standard emporium. The area is however regarded as dangerous according to the security staff and police. My wife's stolen phone was tracked to this street and I was told plainly that the area was too dangerous to be in. I wont risk comming here when I can get the same goods in a safe environment.
All the spices you need under one roof. Too good
Really excellent spice shop, the selection is enormous. Staff seemed really clued up on the different options and suggestions on how to use the spices. I didn't personally buy anything but was there with people that bought plenty and asked many questions. Prices seemed reasonable as well.
Best Spice shop in Durban. Oldest Indian Spice business. Huge selection of Asian and Indian products
Situated in the heart of Durban CBD and not much from the outside appearance but on e you enter they probably have the widest range of fresh spices, herbs and masala's. They have a small vegetarian take aways that definitely worth a try.
