  We just took the champagne castle peak trail and it was our first overnight hike ever and we had loads of fun. Our guide Carlos was very resourceful and well prepared for the trek. Carlos will have you covered for any supplies or guidance you need in your trek. During our hike he also explained to us the history of the region and the stories of the mountains which we enjoyed much. After our hike He ended up suggesting some cool spots in town to visit and spend the rest of our stay at. Thanks Span African and more specifically thanks Carlos and we will resume our new found love for hiking

  It was the best experience of my life for the first time I saw fynbos and proteas on top of the drakensberg mountains. Carlos is a good guide because he knows the ins and outs of the whole mountain he's knowledge about plants and the weather is amazing. How he times he's hikes and the hospitality is 5 star. Carlos makes sure you have enough snacks to keep you energized on the way and when you get to your location he provides the best coffee and hot chocolate as well as a superb conversation! We loved it from the beginning to the end all our expectations were forfilled I saw antelope and baboons beautiful birds of prey. Carlos ability to control a big crew of children is amazing even saving lives when nessesary I'm glad I went on this hike and backpackaging experience with Carlos.

  SUPERBE DRAKENSBERG avec CARLOS
  La mini traverse 5 jours de trek magnifiques des vues à couper le souffle, les nuages se mêlant à la terre et aux parois vertigineuses, une nature presque vierge, préservée au mieux de l'impact de l'homme. des cours d'eau partout pour boire et se rafraichir à défaut de douche. Et cerise sur le gateau la rencontre opportune, comme sortis du fond des âges, de deux bergers Basotho. Nous avons échangé biltong et céréales contre quelques notes de musique.
  Nous avons beaucoup apprécié Carlos et son équipe de porteurs. Des personnes sympathiques et enthousiastes. Carlos est compétent, bien organisé et équipé de matériel ( tente, sace de couchage, etc..) haut de gamme. Malgré la barrière de la langue Carlos à pu nous faire découvrir et partager la vie Sud Africaine. Nous lui en sommes reconnaissant et le remercions encore pour cette parenthèse de vie riche et émouvante.

  I recently discovered Spanafrican Adventures and joined Carlos on a hike in Drakensberg - and what a magnificent day that was! He knew what he was talking about, was very helpful and provided one of the best hikes I have been on. I would recommend to anyone looking to get to know Drakensberg.
