Tranquil getaway spot in the Kambetg which just happens to have the Mooi River, a brown trout stream, flowing by.

i have to say that when I first got to the farm and our accomodation, I was a little disappointed as in my mind and from what I had seen on the website, I was expecting something a little different. However, I have to say that after being there for a couple of hours, I started to fall in love with everything about the place. The cottages are situated on a dairy farm and there are literally hundreds of cows on the premises and in the surrounding area. The cottages are very rustic with old fashioned bathrooms and furniture, although there is everything that you might need for comfort, dining and entertainment, including DSTV. There is a trout dam on the property in close proximity to the cottages. The other dams are situated a couple of km away. The river (or stream as I would call it) is about 200 metres away from the cottages and although we only caught one small rainbow in the river, it was more due to our lack of experience than anything else, as the river was teaming with fish. It was really nice to walk through the fields alongside the river and to be able to fish the river and get to see the trout coming up on your fly, even though we did not succeed in catching them. Dam fishing was excellent to say the least with huge rainbows and lots of browns being caught. Certainly no complaints there. The hosts were fantastic although we did not see them much due to their farming activities. Although I had found it a little difficult to make the booking and to get an idea of what to expect when we got there, it all worked out extremely well in the end and meeting the Mollers in person you got a real feel of humble and hard working country people. Thank you Pieter and Jo for your hospitality and assistance (and the free fresh milk every day) We will certainly be back.

Best river fishing destination in kzn. Big brown trout. And some insane dam fishing. Amazing accommodations and the friendliest most gracious hosts. Join the Mollers in their little slice of heaven. Fishing weekend with the boys or family getaway riverside ticks all the boxes.
