I recently purchased a groupon voucher for Relax Nail and Beauty Spa that expired in September but when I called them to book an appointment they informed that as long as I made the appointment and provided them with security code of the voucher before the expiry date, I could come at a later stage. I made the appointment in early September for the 14th of November at 8 am. Thereafter, I called 3 times to confirm the date and time of my appointment. When I arrived at Relax Nail and Beauty Spa on the morning of the 14th of November, they said that they was no appointment under my name in their books and requested that I come back in an hour. The is extremely unprofessional as I had other commitments on Saturday morning that I then needed to move around. After arriving back at the Spa an hour later, I started my manicure and pedicure. The lady that was assigned to do my treatments filed my toe nails so hard that the skin broke and even after I had made it known to her that she had hurt me, she continued to spray acetone on it and push down on it and every time I flinched, she kept saying "oh is it still sore?". She also left the gel soak off foils on my nails for so long (I had to ask her to remove them) that the top layer of my nails actually peeled off - surely a therapist trained in nails should know that something like this can happen if the foils are left on for too long? She continued to hurt me throughout the 3 hour process and eventually I asked her to just leave it and I left. Later on that day, the owner Charlene, sent me a message asking about my experience and when I relayed my disappointment to her not only about the pain I endured from the therapist but also that it was very unprofessional to not have someone's appointment in her books, she responded (only the following day) by apologising for the therapist hurting me and said that she had had previous complaints about this therapist in the past and that the therapist would be asked to leave the following morning. She also offered that I return for another manicure and pedicure but that was not the point of my complaint and whether its free or not, I never want to go back there again. Not once did she apologise for her role in my unpleasant experience but instead put blame of someone losing their job on me. If they had been issues with this therapist before, why not get her to do something else, after the very first complaint. I mentioned to her that I purchased this groupon because I wanted to try somewhere new and in the hopes of finding a new nail spot that my friends and I could frequent, that was close to our homes. But after my experience, I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone I know. This was an all round very unpleasant and extremely disappointing experience.
