This nondescript station shot into limelight since Mahatma Gandhi was pushed out of train at this place even though he had a valid ticket, thus becoming a victim of apartheid. A must visit pilgrimage center I would say to any person of Indian origin while in South Africa.

We arrived at the station around 7pm and as such could not see the Mahatma Gandhi statue. The place is deserted with no sign of security guard after hours. It seems to be a station with some history based on the design of the buildings, etc.

The must go to place for any proud Indian when in SA/Durban.
We got goosebumps thinking about the night on which a stranger was evicted from the train because of his skin colour.
We sat in the waiting room eating breakfast where MKGandhi spent his night.
We also visited Jail which was very nearby where Kasturba Gandhi was kept overnight.
We drove all the way from Durban to PE and back using Avis self drive car.
It was a memorable experience.
