I absolutely loved this little treasure
We passed by so often without stopping inthe food was delicious and beautifully presented, the service was amazing. I will definitely stop there again. Btw their chilli-berry jam is divine!!response / report this review -

Food is great but!spoilt by huge dogs roaming around wanting to lick and in your face all the time.
I personaly donot agree with animals in an eating area.
What irritated me more
Very loud staff that sit among customers having their lunch or what ever feeding these dogs.
What freeked me more was I saw customers putting food onto a plate and letting the dogs eat from it.
I just wonder about the hygiene of the place keeping in mind that a dogs tongue holds the worlds worst bacteria's some being so vicious it cannot even be identified.
I watched a man and a lady rub and pat the dogs and sit down and eat with unwashed hands. I was left sick.
So if you not too worried about hygiene, and big I mean huge land mines in the parking area. Its quite a nice place.response / report this review -

Very pleasant country restaurant with good views & cosy indoors in winter. A perfect stopover for a break between the southern Drakensberg (eg Sani Pass ) and Durban or Johannesburg.

Quick note: During school holidays they are open on a Wednesday.
A MUST stop for everyone.
Get yourself one of the many preserves or little homemade sweet things from the shop. Make sure you get some of the Drakensberg chocolate slabs as gifts for family and friends back home.
The setting: beautiful outside section with clean toilets and friendly dogs. Huge gardens and a jungle gym for kids. Don’t forget to sit at “the reflection rock” and have it out with yourself a little.
Food and drink:
A refreshing jug of water infused with lemon and mint and other tastebud teasing goodies is brought to the table. Presentation and class.
Must try the milkshakes! The Plunger coffee was one of the best we’ve had. (Can have your coffee Take Away too!!)
The Bunny Chow was delicious and the presentation absolutely delightful. The burgers looked top class too from what we could glean looking at other tables.
Carol, the owner assisted us but all her staff were friendly and helpful.

An Absolute Gem
I only have good things to say about this café.
Upon sitting down in the picturesque garden - we were served a jug of refreshing water infused with mint, lemon and lavender!
Milkshakes are delish and the coffee is some of the best I've had in a while served in your very own plunger.
The food was incredible, we elected to try the bunny chow which was presented impeccably along with a tray of homemade pickle stuffs which can be purchased in the shop.
The service was great and the owner, Carol, is wonderfully welcoming and warming.
An added bonus is that they are dog friendly and have water bowls planted throughout the garden.
A quick note: Picklepot Café is open on Wednesdays during school holidays (Google says they are closed).response / report this review -

Just fantastic! I had a memorable breakfast in a delightful surrounding at a bargain price with very friendly service.
Some notable points: they give you 6 kinds of homemade jam and 6 kinds of pickled chutneys to put on your homemade bread. Also, the bacon was exceptional. Finally, they provided a pitcher of water seeped in all sorts of refreshing herbs and berries.

Fantastic food and hospitality! Butternut soup and a rainy afternoon was superb! If you're driving through and looking for a place to stop (especially with kids), this one's for you. Great outdoor area for the little guys.

This is a lovely spot on the R617 (on the way to Underberg). There is a great jungle gym and play area for the kids and the atmosphere is relaxed. There was a long wait for the food because they were busy
