Excellent Service! Dewalt was our waiter that day and he was on point and he was always there when we needed him He even has a great taste in wine preference when choosing a certain dish.

Went past there a few times since October 2017 and could not once find parking, this was a clear indication that they were definitely worth the constant attempt to dine there.
I was pleasantly surprised with the easy access this time round and at that stage thought it could be because it was nearing month-end and clients were inbetween pay.
Though my experience had no distinct issue, I could personally not see what the hype was about.
Went on a Monday evening at a time where I could only count about 5 or so tables. It seemed as though they were expecting a big turnout as I counted at least 10 waiters. (Unfortunately some seemed a bit bored to be at work on a not so busy night)
The food was acceptable, but not what I expected. Some menu items seemed somewhat out of place. The plating of the mains, in my case a rump steak came accompanied with rice, 2 veggies and a choice of chips or baked potato. The plate was garnished with a slice of orange on a salad leaf. This along with the rice in my opinion was not necessary.
The food that I received came in an acceptable time and was a good temperature. The drinks were ice cold and welcoming on such a hot evening.
The waitress did an excellent job and took good care of us. A manager was not seen.
In general, I would recommend this restaurant to people who like a hearty Sunday meal accompanied with veg at a slightly higher than usual price.

Excellent food, excellent service! World class decor. Honestly, one of the best Steak Restaurants in the country. Highly recommend their Creamy Chicken liver starter and Rump Jack Daniels main.

I would suggest this place anytime over any of the Spurs in town. They are similarly priced and you get alot more. Food and atmosphere is good.

When you find yourself in Bloemfontein, in need of a succulent steak. This is the place to go.

Definitely upmarket dining but worth every rand you will spend there.

Waiters are friendly but need better knowledge of what is on their menus. I also got to see how they make cocktails - no designated bar man but the women did a decent job of it.

I went to Bloemfontein on the spur of the moment attended a meeting and after the meeting I felt like going to a place that is a bit more upmarket than the normal franchised restaurant outlets. I went onto Google maps and the New York Restaurant caught my eye. I didn't book and just drove there. There were no tables available in the non smoking area but I was offered a temporary table in the smocking section till a table became available. The waiter were very friendly and helpful and I did not wait long when he moved me to my table in the nonsmoking section. The service was quick and correct. The recommendations from the menu suited me and I had a lovely evening.
Later some friends joined me at the table and all our requests were satisfied.
The Restaurant offers a Bar section that create a nice atmosphere, there are different sections where couples and groups can be accommodated where it quiet with fitting decor.
I love Ed the place and will definitely go back there.

NOT fine dining!

Honestly the service was good, the atmosphere was pleasant, the food was generous, well priced and tasty albeit clearly prepared by well versed cooks rather than chefs. If this were a Spur, Keg or other family diner I'd give it 5.

The issue I have is calling it fine dining. This would imply a romantic place to impress a girl. Or, as in my case, a great place to have a final meal with my mother to say thanks for a lovely holiday.
