    BE WARNED!!

The Tender process is tedious and payment is non-existent, as they promise to pay you within 7 days on "date of delivery", and days later you are still sent from pillar to post or told lies just to delay the payment process. Ms. D Maraba does not answer or respond to emails or telephone calls after date of delivery.

Prior to delivery date, she would call you at least 8 times a day to confirm when delivery will take place, BUT once the delivery was done ON TIME, she and the rest of the government team disappear. This is after paying the Finance "macky" Victor Ndlovu R 1500.00 for a "special clearance fee" on the 22nd of March 2021.

DO NOT TENDER for anything on Department of Public Health as they do not have the funds to pay you.

Not even the Minister of Health responds to your emails nor does the Presidents Office!!!

So far, national department of health is the best across Africa. I mean with high standards policies. That is why people from Africa come usually in South Africa, when diseases seem serious, for any surgery. Complaining is not actually the best option to solve a matter, let us see what is best instead of. Health services across the country are better, I do not complaint at all.

Great reviews bode well for NHI.
They couldn't manage a common cold, let alone the healthcare of 55 million and counting.

No one answers the phone. Impossible to get anyone to ask for assistance and to get the correct advice. If I were in change of such a Department, I would most definitely take the time to read these reviews and would make a concerted effort to improve the service to the tax payers who are in actual fact paying my salary.

Impossible traffic and no parking with crime and grime oozing out of the cracks. Our government departments are really not about giving service.

My domestic helper has been complaining about a problem in her chest. A private doctor referred her to the Steve Biko Hospital for X-rays. When she arrived there, she was told that she isn't sick enough and she must not waste their time. They sent her home with some antacids. Now, almost three months later, she is still battling with the same problem and the doctor has referred her again to Steve Biko for a gastroscopy. They didn't even bother to examine her or to read the doctor's referral letter and again sent her home with some antacids. This country's health service is pathetic. They can say all they want about free health care for women and children. There is NO SUCH THING. There is NO CARE. These so-called healthcare practitioners are worse than criminals in what they do to their own people.

Poor service provided, the staff are rude and the waiting period for someone to answer the phone is too long.

    Good Morning

I am very much disappointed the way my wife is treated at DR George Mukhari Hospital. She had to go for an operation n on several occasions she was served only breakfast and told that she will go for the operation and till now she is not yet operated. How can patients stay the whole day without food ? . What happened to patients rights ? and why there is lack of communication between staff and patients?
