We spent our anniversary/ baecation weekend here and everything was exquisite! From the room we got to the service. I love how most of the staff are well trained students 💓. Definitely coming back!

Visiting MyPond Hotel has really set the standard. After visiting many hotels in East London. None of them compare in so many ways. The reception, service and food has been outstanding. I recommend MyPond Hotel to anyone visiting or passing through Port Alfred.

Lovely place. Rooms close to the entrance parking a bit noisy when people enter & leave late at nite. But enjoyed our stay & staff very friendly.

This hotel with its many trainee Hotel Management Students doing practical work never lowers their service levels and always treats the customer with excellence. Worth the stay on the river or having supper on the river banks of the Kowie.

Went down for the university boat races. Accommodation was relatively nice. The hot breakfast was late to be served which was unfortunate since we had to leave to catch a plane and couldn't enjoy our food. Despite the staff being in training, we did expect more professional client service. The coffee service in the dining room is incredibly noisy, disturbing mealtime conversation.

Absolutely amazing place and hospitality. My wife and I were blown away completely by the great service. We've travelled a bit and stayed at bnbs to hotels all over the world, and I'm proud to say, that this is one of the best places in the world to stay in. Most of the hotel's staff are run by students from the University in Port Alfred. The staff all round were extremely friendly to out 2 year old which helped in our experience being more pleasant. We had breakfast and dinner at restaurant and they were simply brilliant. The food was impressive and delicious. We had the best tasting ox tail and Lamb shank there, not forgetting an extremely well prepared breakfast. Thank you Stenden students. We definitely will be stopping here again.

Visited My Pond for lunch, with friends. There was a bit of a breeze, so we sat at a table inside. Staff were knowledgeable and attentive, food was very good, and the Chef came out to speak to us about the special sauce that she had prepared for us. All staff from Reception and restaurant were very professional. An excellent meal.

What I experienced during breakfast spoilt what would have been a reasonably good stay. Firstly there was just two people looking after the entire breakfast area, one person had a student badge and the other doubled up as a barista, waited indefinitely for a cappuccino, never came.

Although there were quite a few tables available on arrival, none prepared. Had to wait for a while for a table be prepared. No cereal bows nor glasses for juice and water were available. When the bowls finally came, they were dirty and had to be taken back.

This is one the worst breakfast experience I've had in a hotel, 4 star hotel at that.

The blinds in the room let a lot of sun in, especially so that the room was east facing with a lot of sun coming in very early in the morning. Poor drainage in the hand basin, have to wait a good few minutes for the water to go down.

One positive was reception, the young lady was very professional and provided some information about the hotel and available facilities.
