What a great place! Beautiful hikes, also doable with small kids. Great local guides and superb tips of the area from the hosts. Super friendly and flexible staff and great food (thumbs up for catering for vegans within a 12 hour booking).
Be aware that the Camp site (if you bring your own tent) is rather exposed if there is bad wheather (though with a beautiful view).

Fantastic place. Beautiful views. Friendly people. Personally my favorite vacation place to go. It's right by the sea so you can spend the day at the beach, but it's also right near fantastic walks/hikes and the mountains/country. Very safe as well. So you can spend half a day at the beach, half a day hiking. best of both worlds. And the hikes are for all ages and everything. There are also very beautiful waterfalls to see and cliffs to jump off of into water. The lodge itself is even very cozy. I'd recommend this place to anyone anytime! Really!

Great place to get away and have an adventure with family or a group of friends. On a marine estuary, we've seen king fish spawning, turtles, bird life & baboons. 2 must do hikes. 1 to waterfalls that fall into the ocean, extend to baboon caves and big fresh water pools. If you only have one day, hire a kayak and paddle up river to the 5 waterfalls hike. Ultimate adventure holiday! In season and on weekends catering is provided by the lodge, they are very accommodating to special food requirements. Low clearance cars may have a problem getting to the lodge, especially after rain. Not much around as shops go, but there is great food and a bar at the lodge.

Great way to experience the Transkei if you enjoy a hot shower. Wonderful log cabins overlooking the Mtentu river. The lodge makes wonderful food and it's served around a roaring log fire pit. The lodge has kayaks available for a day trip up the river or go on hike to the waterfall where you can go to baboon cave and take in some amazing views.

Great place to break away from the city life. I do recommend travelling here with a 4x4 or high clearing vehicle. Friendly staff and very rustic, do not expect all the creature comforts of home, but everything you expect if you want a Transkei getaway!

We go to Mtentu often and always have an amazing time. The location is breathtakingly beautiful with lots of spectacular hikes and an incredible river mouth to paddle up. The lodge itself is great with brilliant staff who are so friendly and helpful that you really feel at home. The accommodation is comfortable and private with great views. The solar showers overlooking the sea are awesome! This is a nature lovers paradise!
