The layout of the bungalows is a disappointment. Your neighbour will look into your kitchen, as the kitchen is outside.
One plus point is, they kept the natural vegetation between the bungalows.
The unit was clean and tidy but the up keep of the building.. One of the newest camp in Kruger Park, but already some utentiles and equipment schould be replaced.
The Bushveld surrounding the camp is good. Walk around the perimeter of the camp and you can see a huge variety of fauna and flora, also visit the dam close by.
There is a restaurant but have not visited it.

We loved it. The chalet we stayed in overlooked the bush (not another chalet) so it appeared very private, unlike a lot of other camps. Had a lovely breakfast there, but not dinner so cannot give an opinion of the restaurant other than that.
Would definitely return for a longer stay.

In my eyes the best restaurant of the park. The food is good and the views are stunning. We saw elephants, giraffes and crocodiles while having lunch!

Not as crowded as the base camps in the south

Facebrick chalets with outside kitchen, scattered in the bush near the Pioneer Dam. A conference center, well stocked Parks Shop and a small restaurant and day-visitors picnic area are available. Laundrette and a cool pool for residents. A nice feature is the self guided walk along the perimeter fence. A highlight is the stunning sunsets over the dam but a pity the bar under the restaurant is not operating, especially for sundowners!

Excellent camp for self-catering, includes all mod cons esp air conditioning, which we would not have done without. Wonderful to be woken by the sounds of guinea fowl!

This is one of the better rest camps in the kruger, especially if you manage to get a unit on the dam. This area of Kruger the vegetation is much more dense (with Mopani trees) so big game viewing is not as prolific as down in the south

Beautiful rest camp- If you are lucky enough to, try stay in a unit with a view so you can look onto the damn and see hippo's, crocodiles and many species of birds and an incredible sunset!
