Absolutely love this reserve. It's hot but has a swimming pool and the fans in the rooms work properly. If you enjoy history this is worth a visit.

You don't want to miss it ! Wonderful discoveries. Our guide, Cedric, was great and interesting. Interesting history of that place, plus great geology views. Loved it. 😍

The place is very beautiful, bush life and the care taker is got the best service ever. I will recommend this to anyone who want to relax and be away from the noise. but the road to the place is gravel which I did not like since i was not prepared for that long gravel

A special place with the beautiful rock formations. We stayed at Leokwe camp which is such a great camp. Accommodation was clean with spacious bedrooms. The bathroom only have outside showers Something different, but we enjoyed it. It is best to visit the park in a 4X4 vehicle as most of the roads is for 4X4 only and we could not drive as many roads with our SUV.

Very interesting National Park. Stayed 4 nights, and it was sufficient time to explore this park. Need about 2 days to drive through this park. Park has 2 separate sections, and a day for each is OK. I prefer the Leokwe Camp above the Limpopo Tented Camp. The restaurant is about a 30min drive from Leokwe camp and basic. This was a very interesting park to see as it's a mix between Kalahari and Bushveld. The scenery is the attraction above game, except lots of elephant. The accommodation was fine for SANParks. During wet weather, you will need a proper 4x4 on many roads. During dry weather small passenger cars are driving on the main roads, but there are areas where you need diff-lock, as there is loose sand, etc. You can also do official 4x4 roads, but you will need a 4x4 on those roads and not just a high suspension 4x2 as you need to navigate rocks, mud and sand. A 4x2 with diff-lock is good enough in dry weather on most of the main roads, and some of the roads marked as 4x4. Ask reception for details. This was a very enjoyable and interesting experience as the scenery and experience is just different from Kruger.

You'll only get the bare minimum facilities. In fact, if you need something from a shop - the nearest is Alldays or Musina (50 - 60 km). This allows Mapungubwe to retain that mysterious, untouched atmosphere that makes this place so magical. Impressive sandstone hills abound, giant boabab trees grow in the most unexpected places and the melodies of unspoilt Africa emanate from all around you. Mapungubwe is my happy place.

The park is full of lots of Elephant as the fences between Botswana, Zimbabwe and South Africa are down. We were really spoiled with great sightings. As an additional bonus, the rich history making this a world heritage site is well worth the visit. The guided walk and tour was very informative.

Absolutely awesome experience at Mapungubwe National Park, and the Safari Drives from Mopane Lodge to Mapungubwe wonderful. Super accommodation, Staff and Game Rangers so friendly and helpful. I will recommend this to anyone interested in having an experience beyond expectations when visiting this area.

It is a beautiful park with awesome geological formations and many large boabab trees.
There not an abundance of wildlife but you will see them occasionally.
A must visit and place for your bucket list - if you love wide open spaces and beautiful natural views.response / report this review -

San parks have done a spectacular job with this gem! So few cars around, you really do feel you are in the wilds of Africa, the confluence decks are amazing, do it at sunset!

Having travelled extensively through South Africa and immediate neighboring countries - you generally don't find something that makes you sit up and say wow. But Mapungubwe did that. Drove through with the family for a quick weekend away and it exceeded expectations.
Undisturbed. Serene. Gratuitous amounts of wildlife. One really manages to get the raw experience of being in the middle of the bush, whilst still having access to the necessary amenities. Well managed Park with affordable rates. And don't forget the confluence point (housed within) - where South Africa, Botswana and Zimbabwe borders meet. A very underrated national park. Great bird life, lots to see, interesting terrain. Accommodation is really good. Only the disinterested staff at the dysfunctional shop/restaurant let it down. But other than that - recommended and will be back.

the national park is so beautiful big and unspoiled bushes. there is a point where you see 3 countries at the same time, Zimbabwe, south Africa and Botswana.the elephants are amazing and you can actually see the difference between the south African and Botswana elephants.its a great place to be if you want to see the majestic Africa.

Great for birding, wildlife bit scarce. Really great scenery, not your tipical plain game park, topography changes with every turn. And some of the loops are 4x4 (adds a little to the experience)

Best view in SA! Amazing view over Botswana, Zimbabwe and SA. Great restaurant, open till late. Chalets are in very good condition! Very very beautiful place!
