Restaurant too hot - aircons are clearly insufficient. Food below standard. Crayfish thermador was bland. Cheese overpowered the thermador sauce. Will not go back.

Been eating here for more than 35 years. Best prawns in Umhlanga. White linen table cloths and serviettes. Soft background music, allowing you and your guests to converse, without shouting to be heard.

The family and I had dinner at Lord Prawn yesterday, 29/12/17. Disappointing is an understatement. We ordered 2 off, the chefs choice (R395 seafood platter),2 cocktails and a few other dishes. All the seafood on the platters were over cooked and dried out. The cocktails were flat and bitter. It was brought to the attention of management however the complaints of poor service and quality didn’t seem to phase them.
And if you plan to visit the bathroom make sure to carry your galoshes.response / report this review -

Service was slow and although the staff were friendly, getting the attention of the waiters is very difficult since they seem to be in the kitchen or some where else most of the time.
The food was impressive though and I would recommend visiting this place for a special occasion.
Not a good choice for regular eating as it is very pricey.

Spent our last night of our holiday eating a huge plate of prawns. Lovely inside - smart casual, but not uncomfortable. Waiters and servers all pleasant and attentive without being "in your face". Food was great.

Most fast food places have better fish and chips. Service was slow, that can be attributed to the place busy. I did wonder a few times if the waiter knew we were there. Really poor quality food.

One of the best seafood restaurants I have been too. The food is excellent but the service is a bit slow as it was very busy. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food you get. The decor might need an upgrade soon as it is quite old fashioned.
