Lion's Head was a really fun hike, it is quite easy to start off with but once you are nearing the top it becomes a bit more strenuous. I saw a lady twice my age scale the mountain with ease in white pants! And there I was huffing and puffing my way up. Tip: take some snacks or a small picnic with you because when you get to the top you will want to spend some time there.

Amazing view and relatively do-able hike for whole family. We took my father-in-law up there and reached the summit in approximately 1 hour 40 min with slower pace and rest stops along the way. What an awesome experience watching the sun set and the full moon rise shortly after! And it wasn't difficult to come down in the dark. Just bring a headlamp and warm jacket.

Amazing views - lions head and table mountain are my favourite 2 places to hike up in cape town. It took me about 45 minutes. There are a lot of young kids on the walk, but it's not a trivial one, with some tricky parts.

Great hike, not too tough, but if you looking for a good workout you can pick up the pace and get the blood pumping. Stunning vantage point to view Cape Town, Table Mountain and many other neighbouring areas. If you're taking your dog just know there will be necessary to pick them up at some stage, but very doable, doggies love the hike just like us and there is enough space at the summit for them to run around. All and all a great trip to make, don't miss it!

This part of the mountain is incredibly popular with folk who enjoy the short but rigorous hike to the top of lions head. The 360 degree views from the summit are remarkable and ever changing depending on the weather or time of day. This is a moderate hike that my 7 year old son managed fine. There are some quite exposed sections so care must be taken.

Hike up! not for the weak hearted. Moderate to difficult hike for an average person. But it’s a must do! You get to see some amazing views (don’t forget a camera) and meet super cool people (like most hikers). Once you get on the top, you see the Atlantic, unobstructed view of table mountain, 12 apostles, the Signal Hill, and the city of Cape Town. 5 stars and strongly recommend to everyone. Try to do a sunrise or a sunset hike. It’s worth it! I did a sunrise one (so I was there at 5 am. But there were at least 50 more people there by that time). Take plenty of water.

Arrive early between 5am and 6:30am during summer, don't forget water and something to eat.
Expect crowds and a little wait during peak tourist seasons. There are a few routes up best to pick the route best suited to the groups experience level.

Take it easy, take lots or photos of table mountain, devils peak, camps bay and the rest of the city. Amazing views once you make it to the top.

Keep all your waste with you and throw it in the bin at home.

During colder months be sure to wear good walking shoes with good grip and pack a warm wind and rain proof jacket.

There is a vendor selling ice cold drinks for R15 at the start of the trailnas well as a Vida food and coffee truck on some days.

Beautiful breathtaking views all-around!! Good trail to hike up the mountain. Completely free of charge, wonderful experience! There's a small shop at the foot of the mountain for people to hydrate and recover after hiking. Nice area on top of mountain to relax and enjoy the views. A must do hiking trail! Enjoy!

The view is the best among table mountain and signal hill i think. The view along the way got so much to see and you don’t really feel tired while climbing up. Recommend to go up in summer time around 4pm and bring a nice bottle of wine and refreshments to chill up at top. Go down at 7pm and you’ll get to see sunset and the night view. Wonderful place to go !
