The gardens and Christian art were a huge help in my healing process. I really enjoyed and appreciated the nurses singing in the morning. There is room for improvement in service and care, but overall a good experience.

I don’t enjoy hospitals and I’m sure many don’t… however, Life Groenkloof is absolute class. The staff are fantastic, everyone greets you with a smile and assists you as best they can. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable and I really appreciate the effort that the medical personnel put into their respective jobs. Truly a class act!

Terrible ER, waited from 16:00 till 21:00 with no word from nurses regarding my nephews fractured arm very poor service and waiting period! Very disappointing! This is not my first time here, it’s my second time and nothings changed! Will NOT COME BACK HERE! I highly don’t recommend this hospital as an emergency unit! Since I got here as well there has never been anyone at the reception to assist either.

St. Francis ward. Staff friendly and professional. Caring and always willing to help. Chapel was calming but very cold and dark. Why then not 5 stars? Unfortunately maintenance is urgently needed. Room dark and depressing due to lights that needs replacing. Bathroom basin has no plug, shower hose is leaking water everywhere, cupboards in room not closing due to hatches broken.

Great hospital. St Catharines nursing staff excellent. They are compassionate and caring and always go the extra mile. My second stay at this hospital for a knee operation and both times has been great. Exceptional service. Due to the fact that I have been in and out of hospitals for the last year and a bit due to an infection in my knee, I highly recommend that certain hospital staff at other hospitals could learn a lesson or two from St Catharine staff.

Thank you for the wonderful care given to myself and I have recommended your hospital to a few people.

    Regards

    Warren Holman

The worstel experience of my life. It s a dirty, unfriendly and uncaring hospital. Where the staff think they don't have to be accountable for their actions and just Dr don't care. It's all about the money and not the patients. I have been atmitted numerous times and had the same experience every time. Talking about 8 times since September 2017 till now. The welfare worker makes promises never to be followed up by herself or anyone else. Oncology is very friendly as long as you don't phone or need any help. Most of the Dr reseptionist can make a proper appointment. Communication with medical aid are really useless . Patients are a number and a account. Be care and be warned.

My son had to have emergency surgery and this hospital was recommended. The Maxilofacial Surgeon Dr Julius Kohler was excellent and the surgery was perfect. The only five star hospital in Pretoria.

I experienced very poor service at the emergencies. The doctor who helped me was extremely rude and unhelpful. I now do my best to avoid this hospital.

If you have an emergency and have to go to casualties at Little Company of Mary.
You can expect to wait several hours due to only having one doctor to treat all patients in the casualty ward.
You can also expect zero communication, and might die whilst waiting.

I would recommend you choose life... But not necessarily a life hospital.

Admitted the 10/12/18. And left 14/12/18.
From admission to discharge my experience was great. To all staff from admission, casualties, ward staff, catering, cleaning staff, doctors, radiologist, I received the best treatment. Once again to Groenkloof hospital you are the best. Thanks once again. Phillip.

Went for day procedure under general anestsia. Was told to arrive at 6am and waited until 8am for a bed. My name was also spelled wrong on the charts leading to confusion. Once given a bed there were COCKROACHES crawling on the wall in and out of the light and power socket bolted to the wall above my head. Was given a bracelet and the procedure was WRONG. Glad I checked or I would have had entirely different teeth pulled. When I was waiting to be picked up for theater, the orderly was late because he couldn’t find me due to the misspelling of my name which I had thought I corrected when I checked in at 6am — apparently no one changed it in the hospital system. Was being rolled to theater and the nurse who handed me over had put the WRONG patient sticker on my chart - didn’t match my name or procedure on the chart. After being rolled back to my room, nurses couldn’t give me straight answer about leaving. First they said I could go. Then they said I had to urinate first. When I asked about prescriptions, follow up, doctors note the nurses said there was nothing and I was free to go. An hour after I left, we get a phone call because there were prescription, post op car instructions, and a doctors note. First and last time I will ever use this hospital. Way too many (what could have been very serious) mistakes. Only good thing was my anastesiologist and her team who were incredibly professional, calming, and answered all my questions.

Staff is absolutely fantastic and the way a person or child gets treated is top notch. I would however like to see that Wiesenhof coffee gets there staff to be more professional and more friendly.

Mary Potter oncology is excellent! You can visit at all times and patients and family are treated with the utmost respect. Excellent staff and doctors and access to social worker, therapists and other support services. Simply the best!

There are several issues with the emergency room.
    1. There is an admin fee of R150 that is charged separately.
    2. The ER is a practice which is separate from the Life Groenkloof Hospital which means that even if your medical aid covers Life Groenkloof, it may NOT cover the ER, which is a nasty surprise when you get your bill
    3. THEY TAKE ETERNITY TO ADMIT YOU

My one friend tore his ligament whilst on campus. They took an eternity to see to him after filling in so many forms.
My dad had an accident and ripped his skin from his finger and broke his fingernail which was a very bloody sight. We waited 40 minutes before even seeing him.

So much for an emergency room. Really don't bother. Rather go to Unitas in Lyttelton.

One of the worst Energency Rooms I have ever experienced. The receptionist doesn't even bother asking the patient what the problem is, and then just sits you down to wait... The emergency room supposedly treats emergencies, but the staff surely do not!! Will never ever go there for an emergency again!

Great Hospital. Good quality care. Very competent medical staff. I am receiving the best medical care ever for DVT since I arrived as an emergency patient. Highly recommended. Dr Richard Sieberts one of the best Doctors I have ever seen. His patient is his 1st priority.

Absolute disgrace. Arrived at the emergency room at 4 am in the morning with my girlfriend experiencing severe abdominal pain. We were the only ones there yet had to wait 20 minutes to be seen. My girlfriend had to give a urine sample only to find a cup of urine sitting in the bathroom basin.
After complaining about this, another half asleep doctor was sent in. After a vague diagnosis she was given a prescription for antibiotics. She was refused pain killers because "she has already dealt with the pain for 2 days" - wtf yes we clearly here for fun at 4 am. We complained but were made out to be the ones at fault.

    Complete joke!

Dr Richard Siebert at LCM is one of PTAs greatest physcians and a very humble man.....also has a generous heart when it came to fundraising for the boys at Pretoria Boys High......gives LCM a reputable name.

I received my cancer treatment at the Oncology - Mary Potter - and was admitted to Mary Potter about 7 times last year due to complications and honestly the treatment was superb. The Nurses and Sisters were so kind and compassionate with me and Dr Cohen and his team are wonderful.
A month ago I had a shoulder replacement at the Main hospital and once again, superb nursing and great Doctor. We live on the East rand but I will only go to Groenkloof Life as Doctors and hospital staff are great.
