Out and back hike. Suitable for kids of 5 and we had a 15 month old in the back pack. Stunning waterfall and quite thick Forrest. Not difficult at all. Well worth doing

Krantzkloof is an amazing spot for a daytime getaway. The variety of trail lengths, routes and difficulties makes it easier for you to explore nature at your own pace. The view sites are amazing. You feel like you're deep within the mountains yet not so withdrawn from civilisation. The trails are clearly marked so getting lost isn't easy. The reserve is well maintained. And they have a comfy picnic spot at the trail entry points, which makes for a nice relaxation spot after your adventures. It's a place where you can bring the whole family for a day in nature. The only downside is trying to find a parking space if it's on a busy day.

Beautiful place and easy to get to, just follow google maps. Very well marked tracks. I did a 12 km hike. As the track goes down into the gorge and back up again it really gets the lungs working.

Absolutely beautiful, many trails to go on, not quite sure which one i went one, I took 2 trails they were stunning, can be a few challenging places, there are 2 waterfalls that i know of which are stunning to take pictures of. Don't forget to come in suitable clothing .There is a picnic area available, everything is absolutely perfect, have to come here again. I don't think it's a good idea to bring small kids it could be a bit dangerous for the young ones

Absolutely amazing. Perfect getaway from the city. You feel as if you in a rain forest. Peace and tranquility only 20 mins from Durban city center. Wander where you feel most alive and wifi is weak.

One of the highlights of the greater Durban area. The reserve consists of a deep gorge that can be viewed from various lookout points. It is situated in the middle of the Kloof suburb and is accessible by a very winding tree lined road not far from the M13.
It has a grassed picnic area next to a small dam. There are a wide variety of walks that lead off from various parking areas off the road that runs through the reserve.

I've hiked all over the world and Kloof Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls that I've seen. The uniqueness of it and being able to get close enough to play in it is what makes it so stunning. The entire hike was amazingly beautiful and well worth it. It's hard to find details online but the trail is well marked once you arrive. It's about four miles round trip with 1000' drop into the valley which means a 1000' climb back out. I didn't know this until I arrived but it turns out to be a really good rockclimbing destination as well. The river has lots of silt in it and looks murky and dirty but there aren't any parasites or animals or plants that you need to worry about (assuming you don't drink it) so we didn't hesitate going for a swim and playing in the falls.

If you want to see the beauty of nature and get a great exercise at the same time. This is the perfect place to do it. Go with your friends or family hiking in its mountainous hills. And take a lot of memories.

Love this place! Great walks, great views. I've been going here for 30 years! It's almost next door. Very popular picnic spot. Toilet facilities could be cleaner and better maintained.
