Truly rustic experience staying in rondavels, complete with mosquitoes and other creepy crawlies and the blyde river just a few steps away. With the amazingly quirky host that Phil is, a well stocked kitchen, creative bathrooms surrounded by nature and proximity to all the lovely sights of the blyde river canyon region, this stay is sure to win your heart. Do stay at the stone house if possible. It is beautiful and absolutely worth the money. Do ask Phil to show you around and tell you his fantastic stories about the region. Only three things to be prepared for Wear mosquito repellant, carry a flashlight for walking around at night, reach there before sunset coz the place not very easy to spot in the dark and has a tricky dirt path leading up to it.
If what you're looking for is a "rural" experience just outside a South African village in Mpumalanga on the banks of the Blyde then this is your spot. 30 minutes or so drive from God's Window. Walking distance from the Bourke Potholes. The host, Phillip, is a fountain of knowledge and will add to an experience you'll never forget.
Beautiful and unique place. The hosts are great. I can highly recommend to stay there.
