We had such a fantastic holiday at Jackalberry Lodge! I couldn't have asked for better service, food, and people. Atasha welcomed us when we first arrived. She was really knowledgeable about the area and answered all of our questions. They ask you at the beginning of anyone has food allergies or items they don't like and go above and beyond to accommodate. John and Willy were our driver/tracker. They were really knowledgeable and showed us how to track animals and look for prints. They really know their stuff!! We felt like experts by the end, though I'm sure we weren't. 😜
Lucy was our butler- she's the sweetest on the planet. Her smile is contagious and she was very accommodating.
The food was fresh and we were given options. Everything tasted great and the trip was well organized. There are even special extras that they do to make it really special. (I won't spoil the fun).
The photos don't do this place justice. The views are spectacular. There is a watering hole in the distance, so we could see zebras, baboon, wart hogs, and deer species throughout the day. The place comes stocked with toiletries and a hairdryer. There's a USB plug and I think they have adapters if you need one. Mosquito repellent is provided. Blankets are in the bada$$ truck for the cold mornings. The game drives exceeded our expectations. We have the most amazing photos and saw everything we wanted to see and more! There is a souvenir/clothing store on site with really unique gifts. I hope to be back, soon!!

Incredible and amazing 5 days in Thornybush @ Jackalberry Lodge!

Game drives were awesome - we saw the Big 5 in the few days we were there - and so enjoyable because of our guide Henry and our spotter Lucas. We had more fun with them @ Jackalberry then we did the rest of our 35 day trip in Africa. Accomodation was excellent and meals and snacks were delicious and plentiful. Staff was top notch and very attentive and yet we still felt like we were family. The atmosphere was casual and friendly yet everything was done so professionally. A very rare combination to achieve successfully. I would highly recommend this lodge and would certainly return.
