A battlefield to reflect in the waste of men in war. Very sad to see all the graves and lost of such young men. Battle history so well explained.
Well looked after, our guide made it very memorable.
Good walk, but more information boards along and way needed and way indicators.
A must visit for anyone in central KZN. An iconic battlefield where the Empire was defeated.
Awesome story and site. Just make sure you hire a guide.
History speak itself.
A place to be!
Is is a great AngloZulu battlefields site , but you do need a good local guide to bring it to life .
Had a great few hours wandering around the battlefield and imagining the events which took place here. Really would recommend doing a bit of research before you visit so you can imagine the direction of the Zulu attack, and where the fugitives tried to escape. It does get hot so wear a hat and take some water. It's also quite tricky terrain, but I managed to climb high up the hill for a fantastic view. The stone cairns where the soldiers are buried makes for an eerie setting, especially if the site is deserted as it was when I went. Recommend the small museum and the isandlwana lodge as a place to stay.
