  Lovely campsite with awesome hikes and climbing nearby. Was a bit concerned by the pines encroaching on the fynbos next to one of the dams and along some of the trails though :(

  This could easily be one of the best kept secrets as I found it by chance. Little to no cell phone reception which I prefer. Unfortunately the camp site was flooded when we got there but it did not bothered us. We rebooked it for a later date. We were there for 1 night 28 Aug 2020. We had to camp in the parking spot and was about 30 meters from the ablutions. The ablutions itself was very clean and well kept. Hot water is supplied by a gas geyser. This is great at it is a private campsite so none of your friends will have cold showers. I will review it again after I have visited it again next year.

  I would give the Houdenbek camp site 10 stars if Google let me.
  It is a beautiful secluded campsite and because the owners only let one party make a booking at a time, you have the whole place to yourself.
  The camp is next to a dam, and on the other side of the dam is a world class climbing crag. There are also some amazing bike/hike trails, and the camp site has a fire-pit and lapa area.
  All of this less is than three hours drive from Cape Town! :)
