This place has new owners. I stayed there last year, under the previous owners, and would have given it 6 stars. This time, less than 1 star.
I arrived and there was nobody to let me in - the receptionist was on lunch and I had to wait for a half hour. I wasn't given the room that I was promised, but was given one opening onto the driveway instead. I was accused of being demanding when I requested a gluten-free breakfast, and asked if the rooms had hairdryers. I was there to work, but the desk was kitchen counter height with a normal height chair, so I had to balance on two cushions to come even close to seeing my laptop monitor.
Before I'd even spent a night, the owner told me "We don't offer refunds, but you'd be very welcome to go and find somewhere else to stay!" Apparently it was unreasonable of me to be unhappy about having to wait a half hour to get into the BnB, and be left waiting on the street. She also yelled at me for taking an "inside" cushion to an outside concrete bench so that I could sit more comfortably.
Breakfast was ice-cold, with no fresh coffee. Who serves breakfast without coffee?? As I'd paid extra for breakfast, I thought that maybe I could cancel my next 4 breakfasts and be refunded for that. But that was also not an option. So I paid for breakfast that I didn't eat.
This place is over-priced for what it is. They're way behind the times in terms of the minimum standards expected from guests in luxury guesthouses. And rather than trying to fix what was broken, I was just shown the door but without the money I'd paid in full, and upfront.response / report this review
