Lovely porters. But arrived at check in and the rate quoted several days prior to arriving was no longer valid. We were then asked for another 700 rand.
This did get reduced but the duty manager pulled faces and threw her pen on the desk.. Hmmmm
I'd handed over cc details. Feel a bit held to ransom.
I was happy to pay on the day I booked but by doing this it allows them to charge just what they like.
Given a holiday inn rewards but won't be using it any time.
    Highwaymen.
I've searched and found this to be a policy.

It's nothing special but it also does not mean to be. They are very concious of the water crisis which is good. One of the cheapest vending machines I've seen in a hotel. The location is amazing though. Small in the centre and right by greenmarket square. I would recommend of you need a convenient hotel and you someone that is expiring the city

Excellent stay. The location is very central and convenient. Room is compact, but well decorated and maintained. Staff were warm and helpful. Free breakfast was provided and plenty of choices. There is no lunch or dinner on site, but there are many restaurants around, and you can call for food delivery to reception. Free wifi was provided, just get a voucher from reception. Valet parking for R60 per day, which I think is well worth it as parking is hard and tight in the area.

One of the most excellent hotels I have ever stayed in. 2000-2001. I'm sure it is still as absolutely top notch. We had the honor of attending the Parliament of the World's Religions when it was hosted in Capetown. An unbelievable experience and this hotel was the perfect hub. There is a street market out front every morning with amazing art. Concierge service. Wonderful breakfast spread. Very nice bar. I can't say enough about this place.

Great location actually in the CBD. The Greenmarket Square was right outside my front door & there are tons of shops in a 2 minute walking distance. It is a weird driveway for this hotel since the market is out front but there was a guy I assume security who helped me bring in my luggage. I was greeted warmly at the reception desk & thankfully my room was ready. I'm sad I didn't have a refrigerator but things were so close I could just walk to the store if I wanted a drink or a snack. I was so HAPPY to see WASHCLOTHS. I swear that is my cross to bear when traveling. There were not any drawers to put my things in so I had to figure out a plan with the few cubby holes I had. The street noise was a lot. I was out the first few days there so I didn’t notice. I was going to extend my stay on the last day. I was feeling well and stayed in all day. There was a lady that sat on the corner and sang all day. It was quite annoying. I heard her one evening when I came in but I didn’t think anything of it because it stopped shortly after. Well apparently this is her spot to sing for money so it appears she is there all day singing.

Very conveniently located in the CBD, while at first I thought parking was going to be a struggle, I was pleasantly surprised to find a valet service waiting for me & my luggage (Just like the movies). The rooms are spacious & beautifully decorated. Staff are very friendly and helpful, making one feel warmly welcomed to their home. There are no in-house dining facilities, except for a breakfast service, however the hotel is surrounded by a number of restaurants with 100m from the front door, some of which will telephonically take an order and deliver your meal to the front desk for you to collect.

A little expensive for the quality of service provided. I was unhappy with the whiffs of marijuana smoke that escaped into the hallway from an adjacent room

One of the best Holiday Inn Express I've visited, the standard for this hotel is higher than many other Express in western world.
Rooms are large enough, breakfast is almost continental with many choices, Location is not beatable, Valet parking and walking distance to many around attractions. I personally walked to Table Mountain and trek to Devil's Peak, Waterfront etc.
View from the room is also nice looking into mountain if you located in higher floor.
Staff are cooperative and ambitious to help.

For other reviewers, please remember this is Express Class.

Again like many other hotels, I wish they stop changing towels when we keep them hanged.

The location of this Hotel makes it difficult to get to by car. It is in the middle of the Market District. The minute the shops close the area becomes a little dodgy for walking around alone. The hotel room is clean and the staff are friendly and attentive.

Never before had I seen that while booking and paid for a reservation that this particular hotel cancelled my booking to increase the price per night. Absolutely awful business ethics - if this money greedy establishment which cancel change a price within seconds then I'm glad to have experienced their customer service prior to have contributed to their gain. I've gained the experience that to cancel one's booking to only increase the price of the last room because it was evident that two people were wanting the room.
A customer lost is a hundred witnessing!

Friendly service in a clean hotel. We liked the location in Cape Town's city centre, close to all the sidewalk stalls and historic places of interest. Ideal to take the Sightseeing busses around the corner.

Nice big room with a extremely large bathroom. Comfortable couch and bed. Friendly staff and delicious breakfast available. Only gripe: the king size bed was two beds pushed together, so could chose a side but not the middle :-(
