Had a very good experience when we stayed here on our way from Kruger to PMB. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and took care of everything including a REALLY delicious dinner. Their rates are very affordable and well worth the money. They sent us off in the morning, after a giant breakfast with sound travel advice of what to see in the area. Quite a happening little town! Many thanks. We will be back!

Grasslands Cottage is a charming haven situated in tranquil country surroundings in Wakkerstroom. Wakkerstroom is a well known mecca for birdwatchers, and offers a wide diversity of birdlife. We opted for the bed and breakfast for the duration of our weekday stay. Hosts Graham and Claudine made every effort to ensure that our stay was a relaxing and comfortable one. Both hosts are also very knowledgeable about the town's amenities and will freely recommend tours and other activities. Rooms are well appointed, neat and cosy. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the patio (weather permitting), offering a view of Claudine's rose garden and the beautiful countryside beyond. We also requested the dinner option and found the meals delicious and great value for money. The boeuf bourguignon and butter chicken curry come highly recommended, as do the tasty desserts. Claudine's baking expertise is also renowned and her baked goods were a welcome treat. Our hosts' warm hospitality and hearty culinary offerings ensured that our weekend was most enjoyable and left us feeling revitalised and well rested.

Home away from Home. Relaxing countryside retreat with excellent hospitality. Tranquil setting with beautiful views. Birders paradise (heritage site) with bird hides in walking distance. The hosts are very informative about the history and sights in Wakkerstroom. Scrumptious hearty home cooked meals to tantalize the taste buds.
