Althoug horses are well looked after the owner is very rude. Giving a stallion that goes crazy when surrounded by the mares which was not the problem at all. Owner shouting infront of everyone "you are a yellow rider my man!" You can't handle your horse! "Zero riding experience!" He wanted my girlfriend to turn her horse in a certain way and when the horse didn't want to turn he also shouted at her! We pay a lot of money not to be schooled or shout at. We just want to have a blast with a horse on the beach and enjoy the ride. The guide was very nice though!
I go riding with Gary every year and I have not once been disappointed. He and his grooms care for the horses, which you can clearly see. Gary and his team make sure that the horses are matched up properly with riders, taking their riding experience as well as weight into account. Everyone who has a passion for horses is allowed to experience this amazing adventure. There are horse signs along the route showing that the local municipality supports this as a local business. Riding on the beach is absolutely exhilarating, I look forward to seeing Gary, Pumlani and the beautiful horses again next year!
If you’ve never ridden before, and never intend to again then this is the perfect place. Guides give no instruction or encouragement, they put you on a leash and walk you around for 90 mins. If you can ride, which I can reasonably well, then be warned that the horses are not schooled in a known manner and are controlled by the guides hitting them hard and frequently. No wonder they bolt and gallop on the beach. There are people and businesses who care about their horses, about riding and about their paying customers. ‘Gary’s Horses’ is not one of them. Because it is the best riding school and amazing beach rides
Horses look in good condition
Yesterday i went for horse riding at Gary's. It was very awesome. Their tour guide knows his job, he knows how to control the horses. It was really amazing.
It was amazing
Amazing
Bad service. Illegal operator. You have to dodge cops. And cross scary busy roads. Poor ponies are expected to carry heavy riders, and the owner is rude. Unqualified and rather questionable guides.
Wonderful however needs improvement
