The parking situation outside is HORRENDOUS! As you’re not allowed to park inside, but outside on a piece of ground not too big. But once inside, after queuing for quite a bit if you go very early in the morning, the system works quite well. I believe this is due to the fact that those allowed access inside are limited. I guess it’s 6 of the one & half dozen of the other. Queuing outside as opposed to the packed queues inside. When only collecting, you don’t have to queue & you can just go inside.
Lengau Testing Station is actually NOT as bad as the long queues may suggest. I think the staff manning these queues in terms of serving them are really wonderful people who understand our anxiety. They really do a wonderful job of moving us ahead, though with limited number of Cashiers available at any given moment. My suggestion is, however, that they make an opening for Temporary Employees to be on call whenever there's a huge turnout at the station. We do have quite a number of unemployed graduates who can gainfully fill this space. Also consider the use of an automatic Queue System in order to record and account daily turnouts for forecasts.
The service is average, standard of the grounds is below average you barely see the upkeep, it would be great if there was online booking for learners license
The staff here is very helpful and efficient, they treat everyone with respect, answer all your questions or refer you to someone who knows. The station manager is also so hands on, he is a people’s person. Everything is quick, such a breath of fresh air to get such an amazing service from a government department without being connected/known. Thank you a million times!!!
I do not understand why so many negative reviewers! I was here early and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Queue was long, yes, but moved along quite quickly and efficiently. Thank you, Mr Poolo, for your patience, kindness and helpfulness.
The experience was amazing just because one worker decided to be nice and friendly! I think Genoniva (traffic department worker) needs a promotion!!! She made the wait in the payment row worth it!!! We appreciated her service!
Pathetic, the grounds are over grown, the staff are self important, out of twelve pay points only two cashiers on duty, no wonder it takes four or more hours to pay for licence disc renewals. If your going to make people wait that long at least provide shelter and seating. TERRIBLE, PATHETIC AND A WASTE OF TIME
Arrived in the morning at 06:00am and was no 51 in the list. Four ladies in front of me are in a jovial mood with a cooler bag and camping chairs. They just had coffee.
I waited in a cue for 3 hours only to get a form. I was told that the chances of my getting help today are zero, but I'm welcome to take a chance and then I was directed to a shorter line which is called "the take a chance line." Nobody is allowed to park inside the complex. You must park across the road. Which makes no sense as it has no influence on spreading the virus at this stage. We are told that there are a shortage of officials because of Corona and that should explain the long waiting periods. In my opinion they are creating unnecessary chaos. Also what about people with disabilities, pregnant women or the elderly? Public services should focus on accessibility. There are definitely better ways of handling the current situation. It saddens me to think how they just don't care about rendering a service to the public.
Amazing👌👌👌
Worst experience ever, staff members are rude, incompetent, inefficient, bombastic, lazy and slow. Building is rundown and filthy. They do not answer the phone and do not respond to emails. Fire the staff, close down the facility and start over.
I have visited the testing facility twice to apply for renewal of my and my wife`s drivers licences. On the first day, we were there very early and the queue was very long. She had a back operation and we had to go home to fetch a chair for her, due to the long queue. When we returned, we were told that there were already 100 people counted and we had to come back the following day. We returned the next morning and was in he queue again, but already on their list as numbers 117 and 118. They then took other people who came to collect their drivers cards and when we arrived in front of the gate, we were told to come on another day again as they already allowed 165 people before us and cannot allow us to enter. This is not making sense at all. This is pathetic service, We want to comply with the law, but was denied access to the offices. Will the Traffic authorities accept it as an excuse once my licence expired and has not been renewed in time? It is a very disappointing experience.
They only accept 100 people a day, no matter if it's for license renewals, bookings or duplicate licenses being issued. It's beyond rediculous.
1 star rating because zero is not an option.
Today was long wait to renew my drivers lisence
Standing outside the premises in long ques since 8h until 15h30
They only help a 100 people for the morning and close at 14h
Eventually when you get inside the building you keep your distance and follow the routine steps
I was helped effciantiantly
Glad this is done
Well organized, helpful and reliable even during the pandemic
Was 4 hours in the queue. There was no one to inform us about the arrangements. After 4 hours they completed the admin process but there was no cashiers to recieve any payments. Now we must come back again for another 4 to 5 hours to finilise the payments. Then another 4 to 5 hours to collect the driver's license. Cannot believe they handle the process so poor without sentiment for older people in the queue.
Under the circumstances I think the staff here are doing their best. The problem is that they don't open on time and that worsen the whole flow of activities. I'm sure if our government wouldn't take initiatives and go more electronic things would be much better.
Website says they open 7:30, but they only opened 8:15. Im in a que sunce 6:30 and still standing outside the building
I applied for a Learner's licence test today, 17 February 2020 and I was told that the earliest date available was 15 April 2020. An entire 2 months just to take a Learner's licence test! 😢
Furthermore, the staff were not helpful, even with simple instructions/directions as to where to go next. Not to mention how unpleasant they were 😔
Went to renew my drivers license. Took about an hour in total, eye test included. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the process was quick. The building was clean and everything worked despite the load shedding. Very cool! (There is also a place to take ID photos in a shack outside the licensing center and they are fantastic quality and fairly priced.)
We moved from the Northern Cape to the Free State, and notified the Traffic Centre of our change of address. Because of this we need new number plates. To legally get number plates you have to show the supplier a registration certificate with the right number, but we were not issued with new registration certificates with the right number. I was informed that new registration certificates were only issued when a vehicle changed ownership. The Lengau traffic centre has been singularly unhelpful about this, and i have had great difficulty getting contact details of the manager of Lengau traffic centre.
We have been trying for more than a year to get my deceased father's vehicles transferred to my mother who is the legal heir. The staff make up ridiculous reasons and submission of more and more documentation to deny her registering the vehicles with every visit. I cannot fathom how they cannot accept the documentation if SARS, the banks, lawyers and municipalities all accepted it???
I came to renew my driver's license. Everything was quick and efficient. I was done with everything, including the eye test and payments in about an hour. Great service. Keep it up. I hope the energy still stays the same even when I come back again. 💯
Just like any other public institutions Lengau Traffic has its own Challenges. improvements needed here and there, long queues with only few tellers working. Some of stuff need training specially when dealing with clients. However other sections are quick and good service.
Place is safe & friendly
My daughter went to write her learner's license again on 13/02. First they tell her they've lost her form and needs to go fill in a new form and do eye tests again before they can issue the license. Then we went to pay. The cashier who helped us was friendly and helpful but sent us to a different cashier to stamp her license, this gentleman was extremely rude and acted like he was doing her a huge favour. When she went back to the classroom to have her license signed, the examinator was nowhere to be found. We were sent to eye tests again only to be told that we need to get a traffic officer to sign the form only to find that there weren't any officers around. After fighting with the unfriendly staff at information another examinator offered to go get a supervisor to sign the license. The staff are all extremely rude and unhelpful. This is totally unacceptable!
The eye test took about 90 minutes. But what a wadte of time in the payment hall. About 120 people and only 3 tellers working. Had to leave after another 2 hours waiting. Will have to go back to pay. Efficiency is a concept not known to this department.
Not bad, 90 mins all in all for renewal of licence. queues at the eye testing station was well managed and 5 stations open at a time. From there it is straight to the cashiers (DO NOT go to INFO first - despite the sign indicating this!), here the queue was poorly managed and the electronic notice boards were not functioning, but rolling contingent of at least 5 cashiers (12 stations) working at a time meant I was helped in a reasonable time, and the gentleman helping me was very efficient and helpful.
just one thing: no licence photos needed for renewal - digital system is in place, ONLY of you need a temporary licence as well (then it gets taped onto the temp licence page)
Thank you Traffic Testing Ground for confirming that I am not your client. Racist much?
No working phone numbers (I called 6 different numbers in a period of 2 weeks), very long queues with only 3 cashiers open, disorganization and unfriendly staff. I wish they could get a more organized system.
In keeping with the rotten quality of service delivery in this town, the traffic dept fails to keep their hours of service updated on the Internet. When you complain they start screaming at you that the hours are posted on their windblown board at the entrance - "that has been there for TEN years all ready!" states the correct hours. Meaning that in 10 years they could NOT manage to post the correct operating hours on the internet!!!!!
I absolutely dreaded my drivers licence renewal based on previous experiences at the centre. However, service was fast and efficient. Keep up the good work.
Renew license on 17 July 2018. Pay additional fee (R180?) for temp license. Was informed that I will receice SMS when liccense is ready in 6 weeks. After 5 weeks and 5 phone calls informed that SMS will be sent. On 6 September SMS has not arrived. Went to enquire. Instructed to collect file. When file was found instructed to go to photography and fingerprint section. Skip line of about 30 persons. New photograph, no finger prints. Instructed to return file to filing room. My license expired on 24 August 2018. Was informed that temp license was valid for 6 months and must waite for SMS that will inform me when license will be ready. I will enquire in another 4 weeks.
Filing room amasing: files in huge filing cabinets and stacked meter high on desks. Amasingly my file was found in 5 minutes. Why move to the 4th Industrial Revolution?
Terrible service, most of the staff have no idea what is going on
Be Prepared to have staff shout at you like you are a worthless dog. Dirty inside too.
the people who work here have such a bad attitude. the service that i received is something that belongs in a toilet.
The contact number is forever engaged
Fast, friendly service. Was in and out in an hour and a half
No answer
Official business hours for licencing and registrations is 7:30 - 14:30 weekdays according to the departments communications office. However it seems that on Wednesdays the public is informed that the offices only open at 9:00..
No business hours shown. Not getting through on the number supplied
