Good experience, had great family outing
Was pleasantly surprised by my first visit (2017) to the festival. I came through from Johannesburg as a day trip, even though there were some not-so-positive reviews on Google Maps from previous years. As a polo-pescatarian (I can only eat chicken, fish, vegetarian) my dietary choices were severely limited. Also, I would like to have seen more Cherry farms competing with each other to sell their products.
Overall, it was a nice day out.
Nice atmosphere, but the festival features second class guest performers and many stalls are repeated. Very good place to find unique cherry centered merchandise
Entrance fee of R100. Only two toilette stalls, both disgustingly filthy and not beeing cleaned AT ALL!!! Sies skaam julle!!! Nothing to buy but mass production cheap toys and or gadgets. 60% of rides not in working order and SLOW and retarded service from rides staff!
1st and last time I'll ever go to this stink hole of a festival!
Very interesting enjoyed it with my folks looking forward to seeing it again from Tweespruitlovely Cherry festival.. Ficksbegah
Was fun. Dop is cheap.
Lots to do and great shows
Great atmosphere, friendly country folk.
Was looking forward to this for a long time but what a waste of time and money as it was a very disappointing experience. Thought it was a festival and it seems it is only a small town cultural show with only a few mediocre attractions. No festival atmosphere in town and the visit to the cherry farms was shocking - very dilapidated. Do not know why they call it a festival..
I have heard so much about the Cherry Festival at Ficksburg and haven't been there so I add this Festival to my "to do" bucket list and done it this year. I have been so disappointed with the Festival. To me it was just a flea market. I assume that there would have been a lot more home made goods like cherry cakes/pies etc but all I found there is cherry liquor - there were not even cookies etc with cherries - I will never recommend this trip for any of my friends or people - rather suggest to them to find more out about the farms and do a trip round the farms as it seems like you get more on the farms than at the actual festival itself :(
