Guide was very good and got kids to be part of the experience. Well worth the admin fee. The fishing is also ideal for the small ones.
A good way to spend a morning.
You pay a dirt cheap R60/pp entrance fee which grants you access to the various birds and includes about an hour flight demonstration / educational session of various birds of prey which for us included a Harris's hawk, Barn owl and a Secretary bird.
Worth every cent.
5/5
Great display of birds. It's a unique occasion to learn about these birds and to approach them for real. When in Dullstroom, you have to go there. The team is passionate and fascinating.
Having been to the Montecasino Bird Park, this centre wins on multiple levels. At its heart does the wonderful job of rehabilitation, the show is remarkable for the detail, knowledge and care shown, as well as a beatiful setting. The personal account for each bird in every enclosure adds to the level of engagement. Highly recommend The shows at 10:30 and 14:30 a must, and you will have a great experience, and at the same time, support a worthy cause
Definitely worth the visit if you have time in the area. Walking the Centre will take less than an hour, but I would highly recommend joining the morning or afternoon displays (10h30 and 14h30) - they are very interesting and entertaining and the falconers are very passionate. Children will love the display too. Children
Great experience! The sanctuary is very well maintained. Variety of birds are good and the flight displays are nice and personal. I had a owl sit on my shoulder. Highly recommended!
You learn so much about different species. If possible stay for their bird of prey show it is informative and really enjoyable
We love bird shows and considering that they are conservationists and all the birds are rehabilitated makes it easy to support them in their cause. The show itself is entertaining and these birds get quite close to the crowd. we will look out for the next time we pass through dullstroom to pop in again
My experience was really amazing! They are all passionate and educated about all the birds at the sanctuary. They raptor show was really interesting. I love that you can see the birds up close.
Amazing place. A must see when in Dullstroom.
What a wonderful experience we had! The friendly staff went out of their way to assist us with getting our images. Will go back again. I would sincerely ask that the photography community do their best to try and contribute a small amount of their income to this awsome Rehabilitation centre to assist them with the good work they do. They need our assistance. Bruna and Johann - Thru my African Lens Photography and Tours.
Some good work being done here. They definitely need your support.
Entrance is inexpensive. The talks informative and very interesting. Guides have personality as do the birds.
