I am Kimberley's mother and i made the booking for the long weekend. I too was not impressed. On phoning them numerous times, i was not once told about booking a private spot. When i phoned the last time, i was told that we could book a spot but they were fully booked. I asked if we would definately get a spot, they replied yes. We arrived on Thursday and only got a spot on Saturday after complaining a couple of times. Only 3 out of us 5 could fish as the spot was too full. I personally feel that when people book, they must be told about the availability of private spots. Furthermore, there were only cleaners if you pay for them, normally by most places cleaning is included. I feel this place is overpriced for services they render. They told me there is a fan, but they did not tell me that it is only in the lounge. The rooms are tiny and stuffy. If i knew that, i would have taken my own fan. My daughter had to specially go and buy a fan. This is unacceptable service. Totally disorganized.

Not Impressed at all. We booked a fishing weekend but had to fight for a spot. Upon arival at our Chalet everything was clean but not fully equipped. Fishing stands allocated to us where full. I mean how can 9 people share a 2 man stand ??? Impossible!! We reported this to the office Friday morning. We only got a spot Saturday Afternoon. When we finally got everything set up a group of people pitched up and said they also had to share the spot with us Like i said how can 9 people catch fish on a 2 man stand?? We decided to leave everything because the organizing of this place is crazy ! Very over priced for service received !

Great camping and fishing site. Camping site has electricity with light. Ablution facilities are good, and fairly clean but should be cleaned more regularly especially when there are big team building events. Fishing is really good with big carp on offer. Swimming pool is clean and well kept and is helps greatly since it does get very hot in summer. Overall a good experience and will come again

Dimalachite offers a huge range of activities including river rafting, tubing, raft hire for leisure paddles, paintball, team building etc.
We opted for the river rafting and to camp overnight. The rafting was a 3 to 4 hour excursion,it was great fun with good guides. The camp site itself was clean, with each stand having electricity and a braai. The ablutions were very neat and clean but the shower heads were unfortunately a let down. Water barely trickled out and sprayed in all directions, making it very difficult to shower.
Our stand had a river view .
Definitely worth camping a night or two when exploring Parys.

I very much liked our stay and will return. They compare very favourable against other 3 star resorts. Welĺ run, well maintained, very clean, especially the bathrooms. We felt very safe. River rafting was great and safe for early teeanage kids. If fishing is your thing, or just quiet rest, then you will really love this resort. Entertainment is a bit limited for kids. No warm pools, slides, etc and every activity cost money. Price was in my opinion a bit dissappointing. They are priced at the high end for 3 star resort and all activities were also expensive. When I do return it will be only short stay.
