Not bad, they need to get more clients. Easter weekend and only us for supper
Beautiful. Clean and service is outstanding. The food is brilliantly prepared and the prices are reasonable. Will be bringing my family next time. Walks are excellent but not for the totally unfit. Well done Didima.
Great chalets! Buffet breakfast and a very nice special on accommodation when we booked. This made didima a beautiful holiday option as well as an affordable one.
The place is good, looking very neat and hygienic but the food was terrible it was really unexpected, they need to improve on it.
Beautifully situated with beautiful views and a perfect location to do some hiking. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Truly fabulous.
A lovely collection of bungalows in a modern African style.
A restaurant to cater to everyone.
Friendly and inviting staff.
In fact pretty much perfect.
The only reason Didima doesn't get five stars is, as with so many brilliant concepts, the upkeep and maintenance has been a little neglected.
Wow what a lovely place we really had a great time service from the lady by the name of Amanda was so excellent 🙌keep up the good work darling
We went to a wedding here and this place is breath taking. Fairytale accommodation located in the Drakensberg with massive windows. Restaurant has modest menu and good food, service is average. Small shop selling souvenirs, clothing, basic food and hiking maps. I suggest buying a map for hiking We got lost.
Large-windowed self catering bee-hived en-suite accommodation located in a stunning vista viewing the grandeur of the Drakensberg. Mountain hotel B&B (buffet) style, restaurant has modest menu but good food. Small shop selling souvenirs, clothing, basic food and hiking maps. Many hiking routes start from behind the cabins, hiking book to register in. Located on the "klein berg" but close to prominent high peaks, waterfalls, forests and mountain wildlife. Also close by is a golf course, mountain rescue helicopters and fly-fishing. If you love nature and day hikes it's worth staying a week.
Great walks and hiking possibilities, well equipped self-catering chalets with great views, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast included in room rate is pretty average.
Newly thatched chalets are clean, warm and comfortable .The gardens feel like an extension of the breath taking scenery (with eland grazing almost on our doorstep) and the staff are friendly and very accommodating.
Not too well organised but fantastic area to be
It was the worst experience, I won't go back even if they paid me. We waited for over 45mins at the reception and there was no receptionist. When we got to the restaurant we ordered a basket that's supposed to have riblets, wings, chips and dipping sauce. The riblets weren't even pork and tasted horrible, we didn't get the dipping sauce and we can't say much about the wings and cold chips. I was appalled and disappointed by the bad service.
We are extremely disgusted and disappointed in our recent stay at Didima Camp (from 23 -27 December 2016).We have visited the camp twice before, the last time having been in 2005 and we enjoyed it very much but now the standards have dropped right through the floor.
On arrival the staff were lying around on the grass and appeared quite unfriendly and completely disinterested in guests. The KZN Wildlife flag as well as the national flag hung in tatters on the flag poles.
We were also informed by reception that the Koi-San visitors centre was closed due to maintenance and they had no idea when it might open again (very poor planning seeing as December is peak tourist season).
At 14:00 were given the key to enter our rooms. On our way there we noticed that the grass along the footpaths hadn't been cut in a while and various foot lamps lay broken along the side. When we got to our chalet the cleaning lady was still busy and only finished an hour and 15 minutes later while we waited outside.
Upon entering we were shocked. Paint was peeling everywhere and almost every wall had disgusting stain marks, the origin of which one can only guess. Our room in particular had foot prints on the walls! The windows hadn't been cleaned, the carpets looked like they hadn't been washed since installation, half of the door knobs were missing and the blinds in the room was broken
We went to the restaurant for Christmas eve where the same theme of decline continued. Only two waitresses (clearly trainees as they knew nothing about the food or wine selection) were on duty and our meal took just over an hour to arrive. The food was average yet exorbitantly priced.
On the 26th the accounting systems in the shop was down and on the 27th the reception system was down. On departure we were also billed triple the amount for the tennis rackets we hired as the system stated that we hired rackets more than the one time we actually did.
This decline is immensely saddening! The marketing team should do the public a favour and go see these "luxury" chalets for themselves. Either they are part of the false advertising or really have no clue as the shambles the place is in.
The reserve remains so beautiful and the view from the camp is exquisite but that is really all Didima has going for it these days. It is quite clear that management has very low or no standards by which they run their ship. So much potential wasted
