Ecstatic about the service, food quality and value for money. Up the stairs a block away from the beach. But being a level up gives perfect views of the ocean. Sushi menu extensive and really great. We will be back!

The service was great, warm welcoming and good recommendations. Sushi was really good, but the mixed seafood platter did not fulfill our all expectations. Fish was a little dry, did not have such a intense taste. The atmosphere was kinda hectic, since many people are walking around in order to choose their choice of fish at the bar. We were also not told which fish we were eating, since we had a mixed platter for 5 people it was hard to distinguish between the different types of fish. Unfortunately two waiters told us differently, so we didn't know what we were actually eating. The rice and vegetables were delicious. I think I'll stick to the Sushi again next time.

Great selection of fresh fish, friendly and helpful staff, will advise you properly on what to order, very busy as it is popular with visitors and locals. It is not the cheapest locale on the strip, but not wildly overpriced. Sushi available in many variations, they have a special bar put aside for the fans.

What an amazing dinner experience. Instantly felt welcomed by all staff. The process of ordering your food is slick and efficient while drinks could be expected within the minute of being ordered.

Most of the credit however is due to our waiter Jason and his amazing ability to make us feel right at home. An extremely witty young man who made our night all the better.

Definitely worth trying if you've never been before.

There are two options when you eat here (and I wish I would've known more about this). There is not a traditional menu.

Option 1: You sit at sushi bar and order from the revolving belt, you pay base on the color of your plate

Option 2: You visit the fresh fish case with your waiter and decide on which of the fresh, local fish/crustaceans you want. Everything is grilled to perfection over wood, and everything is really expensive. There are three choices of sides.

You can combine options 1 and 2.

MAKE RESERVATIONS (even for lunch)

Probably some of the freshest, most expertly cooked fish I've ever had. This was definitely our our most expensive meal in Cape Town, but mostly worth it. I think their prices are a little high for what you get.

Great seafood & sushi place, very crowded it's better booking in advance otherwise you wait for 30 mins or sit at the sushi bar which not bad at all, friendly staff and very quick service.

The food is so fresh and deliciously cooked (you pick your own from the seafood counter) so we really enjoyed the meal. Service was excellent from all the staff. Not 5* as no step free access to the restaurant and nowhere to change a baby

Excellent food for seafood lovers, only seafood. No menu. You choose your dish, they grill it and you get it. Very fresh seafood.

Really good selection of fresh fish. They don't have the standard menu. You select the fish cuts you want from a display of fresh fish, they weigh it and confirm price before cooking it and then you go back to your table. The sushi is very fresh and made by skilled artisans.

Lovely fresh seafood, excellently prepared. The potato wedges were great : crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The vegetables were also a pleasant surprise. And don't miss out on the sushi. We were just too full to want dessert.

The restaurant has 2 parts to it and the only menu they have is a wine menu.
The first part is the rolling sushi. Standard with different colored plates for different price ranges and you choose what you want. I didn't try that so I can't speak about it.
The 2nd part is the seafood. It works like a fish market where you pick the seafood you want from the counter and you pay based on the weight. Then they'll grill it and serve it with vegetables, rice and/or potato wedges (you can choose all 3 if you want). The seafood is wonderfully fresh and taste amazing. Me and my wife had a great evening here and we really enjoyed it!

Great sushi and a wide selection of fresh fish and seafood. Staff are extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Great views from the restaurant with a fire to keep you warm in winter, and when the restaurant is full you can sit at the sushi bar and watch the amazing sushi chefs at work. The Codfather has been around for ages - I have been going for 17 years - and the quality has remained at the same high level.

The hole experience was pretty nice.
You have both fresh fish, which are cooked in the grill, and sushi that you have to get it yourself from a conveyor belt. So the possibility to choose and the quality of the food makes it a really good choice for dinner.

It's important to mention that it's really crowded, so you'll probably have to get a reservation.

So different to other fish restaurants we've visited. The waiter takes you to view the different fish to eat, tells you about the taste & texture and asks how hungry you are so they can give you the right portion size. Wonderful experience & wonderful food 😀

I'll start by saying that the food at this restaurant was absolutely amazing. It's a little pricey by Cape Town standards but very tasty. There was a lot of hype behind this place but we were a bit annoyed with our server as he started telling us about the menu and then simply walked away from the table to chat with another co-worker for several minutes. Further, when we asked him what an average sized portion would be in grams (so we knew how much food to order) he became agitated and evasive. We didn't have any issue with price but were more concerned with getting sufficient food. Finally, when he took us up to the counter to choose our dish, another server kept huffing and puffing and giving us dirty looks because we were taking our time to decide. Definitely make a reservation as this place was absolutely packed when we got there at 9pm.
