Fantastic spot. The chef is a wizard in the kitchen. I've never had a steak more amazing as Chef does it. Definitely worth a visit.

Not a fan of this place however if you are a meat eater then you will probably live this place . Pasta lacked flavour and the Trout Dish was probably the worst trout i have eaten anywhereand ti add injury. the price of food that we did not enjoy!
Very much an old Pub atmosphere in a restaurant setting - if thats your thing - it would probably appeal to you.

Rustic, cozy atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff.
Great variety on the menu, with creative specials always on offer.
Only downside was a lack of good vegetarian options.
It's a local favourite so call ahead to reserve a table as it can get quite busy.

Great experience slightly spoiled by a too pushy waitron. Never put pressure on patrons to place their orders as soon as their bums touch their seats. Allow me to savour the moment and to have a good time. Very good food!

We were recommended to go and dine at the restaurant that by the way, it used to be the maintenance shed for South African Railway bus service. The have good variety of choices and it surely did not disappointed us.

Highly rated, probably the best in Clarens / Free State. Great menu. Staff are great. Have the oxtail, very nice. I'm guessing that there is not anything on the menu that is not outstanding

Nice atmosphere but the food is fairly average. Duck was dry and lacked any flavour and the steak at Gosto was way better. Very grumpy wife and poor evening out

What an amazing experience. We didn't book a table but were told to come sit at the bar and we would eventually get a table - which we did! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great. The chef even came out to ask us if we enjoyed our food which was a great touch to the overall experience. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back next time I am in Clarens!

We came here because place is rated 1st on TripAdvisor and never regretted it. Amazing food, nice setting.
Oxtail was to die for and springbok carpaccio very good. Book table in advance if you visit Clarens during holidays as it gets crowded.
