  My family and I have taken our animals to Dr Van Tonder for as long as I can remember. Not only is he exceptionally gentle with animals, his knowledge of veterinary sciences is unrivaled. I admire the doctor and commend him for his hard work and compassion. There is no other veterinary doctor that I would rather take my animals too than him. Charmaine and Val are exceptionally friendly and really go out of their way to make sure that all your needs are met. I have never had a bad experience there and nor do I believe that I ever will.

  Receptionist condescending and rude, more focused on being a snide comedian than much help. I was uncomfortable around her the whole time. Very rude towards my Pitbull puppies, suggesting sterilisation and pre judging my entire character. I felt treated like 'the clueless black guy'. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there, especially if it's their 1st time to the vet. The vet was alright but the receptionist is a very unpleasant character. Felt like everything happened lighting fast just to get me out of there. Took my puppies to the vet and they still cough after every meal, can you imagine? Rather find another place or wait for new staff.
