Stands are not clearly marked and terrain is was in a terrible state due to flooding when we were there. The campsites are also too closely packed, not leaving you with much privacy. Bathrooms deserve a 2 🌟 rating as they are not well maintained.
Besides that the campsite is close to the Game Reserve, which takes away your attention from the issues in the resort.

Bakgatla is filled with litter. Campsite very neglected. Bad managrment in charge. Park is beautiful and enjoyable, but Ivory Tree lodge tour guides very reckless and arrogant.
This resort is going down the toilet.

Nice placefairly crowded. Ablutions ok and clean but old. No private bush camps. Safe environment for kids.

This was not nice this time to camp here. Previously it was a nice place to camp. The grass was not cut. The washing machine is not working. The lights in the ladys bathrooms is terrible. The toilets does not work propper.The swimming pool is not clean. The braai places is not nice and the place is full of thorns.

Awesome place for a nice family get away, be it camping or a chalet, you can go early for a game drive. Can see the whole big five.

It was a absolute disaster.sewage was running out into the campsite from ablutions being used to much by local day visitors using the residential facilities and over flowing the sewage into the campsite.roofing on ablutions ripped up.rubish is left by the fence in the camp not being picked up by camping crew . holes inside the braai,
tables broken and covered in monkey poop.local night club plays music till 4 in the morning keeping us awake.no shade in sights. chalets had no luxurys if i were you i wouldn't come here.

The camp was a disaster,the residentual ablutions were being used by the day visitors for their dance using all the hot water and stuffing up the sewage sistem the sewage then leaked out into the campsite and causing people to leave because the sewage was running under their tents and campsite the same happened with the sewage at the pool leaking once again into the camps ,the facilities roof was completely messed up due to monkeys and indian myna birds tearing the thatch of, the campsites braai and tables had holes in them and were covered in monkey poop,monkeys raid camps and steal food and the campsites had rubish surrounding them and the camp crew didnt clean this up as they were to lazy,the chalets probably the most primitive I have ever seen with no luxurys and all lights in the campsite for at night time were broken and glass from the bulbs were lying on the floor, no grass and lastly the electrified campsites had no shade at all.
DO NOT COME HERE AS YOU WILL BE DISSAPOINTED!!

Sewage overflow into camp site under campers..unacceptable.. Day visitors using camp ablutions to shower and get dressed for their function. Messing up ablutions..litter all along fencelocal night club blasting music until 4.30am..This is such a shame for a place in such a nice area. Management needs a wake up!!!

What can I say. It was built in the 80s and it is still maintained but it hasn't been refreshed. Camping sites are ok but chalets are expensive. Service is typical African time.

Toilets need a bit of TLC and the grass around the pool is infested with thorns, very friendly staff though and the restaurant food quality is good although the venue quite drab.

A very handy lodge for visiting Pilanesberg. Chalets which slept 5 were adequate without any luxuries. The facilities were good within the complex but accommodation could have been better. Just one double bed and 3 singles all crammed in a second room.

Water is an issue here. Very poor pressure so showers are under a dribbling shower head. Cooking facilities were OK with a braai on the patio. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent and the folks who tidied the rooms and cleaned up the dishes every morning were great. Security staff were friendly and helpful. Most of the receptionists were also welcoming. It was easy to book onto game drives which would pick you up at reception at 6am or 4 pm (R400 per person for a 3 hr drive).

No hot water for two nights, and no water for one day, not what I would recommend!
