This place is right on the beach. 5 star accommodation and 6 star service! Breakfast is chosen from a menu and it is great! Prices is really good for this level of place. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely return.

The worst stop we have had in a month in Africa on our honeymoon

We were in ‘suite 8’ which is basically a sectioned off room in a larger house. There are suites 9 and 7 in the same building.
The building has a huge downstairs (quite ominous and uninviting at night)- and a shaded brick wall clad pool (which has cleaning gear in it while we were there).
When we asked for another room in the main manor (as we can see comments from guests online had been responded to by management with the suggestion this might be more suitable for guests that didn’t like the big empty house feel of the villa) we were told there would be a £75 upgrade cost on top of the £160 we had already paid for the night. There was no way the room was worth this with reputable chain hotels down the road going for less. They were capitalising on this probably as a common complaint and request.

There is a large narrow staircase in the middle of the building which we were left to pull our bags up ourselves - far from easy. We stayed in 3 other B&Bs on this trip and all offered us assistance with our luggage.

The room and entire building were weird and felt inherently insecure. There was no lock on the door between the garage and house, and the middle garage door didn’t seem to meet the floor- to my mind meaning someone motivated could probably gain access.
There are no staff on site after 8pm unless requested and we saw no actual evidence nor set off the perimeter alarm despite it being mentioned in the welcome pack (I’m not sure it is turned on!)

There is a view from the room of a local car park. On the night we were there two cars pulled up- played loud music and had a fire pit party. Again it wouldn’t be beyond these people to scale the short wall and climb into the balcony- which forced us to sleep with the door shut.
    This was the biggest issue-
The AC had no remove control. We contacted reception immediately in person and asked they come and look with us. Reluctantly the staff member (wanting to shrug us off and assist us later) came with me and we walked in silence to the room. She said she would look elsewhere for one. We went out and phoned reception to check on this at 330-430 and 530 when we were told she had been dealing with other customers but assured us she had it and it worked.

We returned home at 815- no reception - no remote and no working AC in a very hot room. We called all 5 our of hours Emergency numbers twice and got no response. Eventually the same lady picked up the call from home and said she would send someone with the remove
Around 9pm a different lady in charge or reservations was showing other guests in. She had no knowledge of our issue - turned on the AC at the wall but still had no remove. We spent the night with AC in fan mode and had the worst nights sleep in our whole trip. Poor service and an awful experience.

The room has someone else’s suit jacket in it- no vanity kit but a couple of empty boxes (pictured) and a decanter with complementary port (which no one explained to us!)

The hairdryer was filthy dirty, covered in someone else’s moisturiser and dandruff (pictured)

Breakfast was nice, but eaten in silence and swiftly at 830, and in unison with all the other guests also eating in silence (we can only assume the other guests had the same idea as us to get away ASAP).

This is not somewhere we would recommend staying to anyone. Look elsewhere.
