Please do not stay here under any circumstances! What an aweful experience I had at this place.First of all the owner has no idea what goes on at the lodge.

Francoise who runs the place is a complete mess and I do not know how someone like that can be running the place. He starts drinking from the time he opens his eyes, and had offered me weed on one occasion.

R300 was stolen from one of the ladies I shared a room with, which could only have been one of the staff members.

But the final straw was when francoise brought one of the guests (male guest) into the room next door and kept me and the other lady up the whole night while they had their sexual encounters until 3 in the morning!

>But let me not get started on the night of the Nigerian guy who came there or when the cops had to be called in!

Anyway to cut a long story short, I ended up booking at another Backpackers- Once in Joburg which ended up being a lovely experience.

Wish I had booked there in the first place!

The dorm room was ok. Some of the general utilities like utensils and towel could have been cleaner. But with all things considered, good value for money plus helpful staff.

Women alone parked outside unsafe. Called the owner Tim who dropped the phone in my ear. Francois who was drunk on arrival and phone is off. Had to sleep in my car alone outside. My luggage is inside!!! Pathetic!!!

Me and my Gf spent a few nights. The owner is a good guy and the place was clean. In winter, better stay outside in the sun as it will stay freezing cold inside the whole day.
If you catch a minibus on the road ask for the signs you have to use to go to places.

Me and a friend stayed here for 10 days during the world cup and enjoyed our time there, Derek works extremely hard and was very helpful. Its a nice place with a lush garden, a bar and sky tv altough does need cleaning a bit. However its location is perfect with a good bar and nightclub 10mins down the road, plus a shopping centre and even the zoo in walking distance.
