Getting to this lodge is a little challenging but it is worth it. It is 15km from main road, accessable by ordinary car. The africian theme throughout the lodge is wonderful from the bright coloured art design on outside to the details in the rooms right down to the food on the menu. The scenery is fabulous, the lodge has plenty of space so even if it is full there is room for all. We were lucky, we visited in low season and had the lodge to ourselves. We were given a poiti of game as dinner which was excellent. Angie was a charming host , friendly, helpfull and attentive. So if you want to experience a taste of remote africa just outside Addo park, then I can recomend Addo Bush Palace Private Reserve.
My fiancee and I stayed at Addo Bush Palace this past August for 7 nights. Right at the beginning, the staff made us feel at home. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink and nice warm towels (It was a bit cold). Since then everything got even better. We had booked 4 nights at the lodge itself and 3 nights at their 'mud huts' (for a more primitive experience). The room at the lodge was beautiful. It was very spacious with amazing views of the reserve. The bed and the bathroom, which are what I tend to over-examine, were perfect. We were able to eat breakfast and dinner a couple of times and it was delicious and satisfying. My fiancee remembers the bean soup and the home-made desserts with great enthusiasm. As for the surroundings I can't write anything that will do it justice so I will include some pictures from our stay. Thanks again Addo Bush Palace, for an unforgettable stay. PS. We saw baboons, kudu, and warthogs from the porch of the lodge, as well as some beautiful birds.
Amazing game lodge! Great locaton: adjacent to Addo Elephant National Park. Luxury decoration and very comfortable room. Beautifully surrounded by nature, we went hiking in the premises and got to see giraffes real close! Highly recommended!
Wonderful place! We stayed in the mud huts and they were lovely. It is very secluded with a great view. There is no power in the huts but they have hot water and solar lights that also have 2 USB ports to charge phones. I highly recommend staying here if you want to go to Addo park.
We attended a wedding in October, 2015 and found them very hospitable and friendly. The suites are superb and would recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in the area!
