You don’t feel so far from the gulf coast when you’re eating at Zydecos. Classic Creole comfort food served up without fuss. On its own the food would not convince me to return, but the exuberant and laid back vibe has me planning another trip.
Stunning!!! Food and atmosphere makes this place feels like you are near the gulf coast. Excellent choices regarding the creole style meals - depending of the day you visit, relax and unwind to some live music that will make you hang out and mingle. Pricy on a few drinks but meal portions are very generous—
Our dinner was incredible. I thought I would need to travel back to Louisiana every time I wanted good Cajun food. The sauces are nothing less than perfect. Walked out knowing the difference between a chef and a cook.
I ordered YaYa Chicken. My chicken breast was extremely pink with red streaks in it. When I brought it to the owners attention it was said. "Oh honey, that chicken is smoked, it's suppose to look like that". Smoked or not there wasn't a smoke ring around it and explain the red streaks!!!! My husband smokes meat on a regular basis Trust me it wasn't done. We drove 60 miles to try this place I won't be going back!!!!
Food was excellent. Happened in on a night when they were holding a fundraising event for a local animal shelter. It was a bit chaotic so the service lacked a little, but didn't take away from the experience. Will definitely be back.
Love coming here. It's like a trip to N'awlins without the long drive or cramped flight. Where else are you gonna get your gator on a stick fix? There's nothing else quite like the French bread and house dressing (balsamic and olive oil) squirted on a plate in the signature "Z". Everything here is fantastic, especially anything covered in crawfish tails (which is just about everything).
This was our second trip to Zydeco's (we'd come a lot more but it's a 100 mile drive) & everything was awesome again. The staff is all great, the food is always awesome and flavorful, & tonight there was a band which added to the French Quarter feel. We love NOLA & we love Zydeco's as well! Keep up the great work gang! Can't wait for our next visit!
I highly recommend Zydeco's. A true hidden gem in a sea of bland chains. The entire menu is amazing Cajun all-stars, start to finish. Great selection of beers and specialty drinks. The staff are fast, super friendly, and actually care that you enjoy your experience. I have never had a mediocre dish or experience here. It's all just amazing.
This was a truly authentic new Orleans cuisine.. They fly all the ingredients in from Louisiana Even the beer.. The food was phenomenal! I would recommend this place to anyone in the tri-state area, looking for a real Cajun restaurant..
First time having New Orleans style food. The spice was absolutely perfect!! Flavor without the flame. Bartender was fluent with the menu and knew how to describe food to a beginner as myself. BBQ shrimp is epic. Dried the plate up with bread. Wish we could of experienced a boil :(. Maybe next time.
Not too busy, the food was tasty, I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars . As far as the service, it was poor. I think for the price, the meals could be a little larger, the ya ya chicken dinner was delicious, just the chicken breast was a single piece and tiny. I hope dinners would come with a big salad..
Fantastic food and atmosphere. We drive over an hour to eat here because it is that good. Love me some Cajun food.
Great atmosphere! Friendly staff! Kids enjoyed the crafts, coloring books, and books to read while we waited. Live music was warm and inviting. Choices of dinner all sounded delicious! Waitress explained how everything is made fresh. Oysters come from Louisiana and the shells decorate the walls.
