Interesting state park. Arizona's only prison until the one in Florence was opened. A sobering look at what prison life was like in the earlier days. Well work a stop.

This place is full of interesting information. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. It was eerie in the dark cell. I could not get myself to go all the way in, plus the fact that they told me there were bats hanging around!

Excellent piece if history. The museum is well put together and the prison cells offer a unique glimpse of the prison system of years gone by. It is most interesting that people were sent to prison back then for things that are considered common behavior today.

It's a neat place. Definitely worth a visit if you're in town. It's a well-preserved and maintained bit of local history. Plus the view of the river and surrounding area is not to be missed.

Interesting place, lots of old stuff on display. Amazing walking thru and imagining how life must of been. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Defiantly coming back, my boys liked it too, they are 8 & 12.

We got to see the structure of prison way back then, though it may have been better before, still, I would not like to stay here. :)

There is a video showing, a museum about the history and stuff about the prison and its prisoners. You'll get to try the prison uniform for a sample mug shot from your phone.
We liked the guard tower for the 360°view of the area. Don't forget to check and buy souvenirs at the shop.

Come on, if you live in Yuma you know about the infamous Yuma Territorial Prison. I just can't imagine 120F in the summer. And the Guards in those days were dressed to impress. 3:10 to Yuma

Nice peak into history! The grounds were well maintained and clean and the staff was nice. The museum was pretty cool and contained a lot of information, photos and original artifacts. As an adult i paid a $6 ticket fee and it was money well spent. Would definitely visit again when i'm in the area.

Pretty neat place. Only open certain times of the year so definitely check their website or call first. We saw the whole place in under an hour, but still worth the visit.

Eh not what I thought it'd be.. I was expecting a big prison that was completely abandoned and that you could just explore, but instead it's rather small, you have to pass through a gift shop for entry, they have a small museum type building with a little theatre room that shows a movie about the history, and then past that are the empty cells. Only a few of them are open and all the way in the back was the dark cell room which was the creepiest/coolest little part of it cause in the informational movie it tells you all the history if what went on in there. I couldn't stay long cause I got sick from the heat since the cells were outdoors. Overall it was a cool place to see, it's not some big deserted prison like I imagined it'd be but it can make for an interesting little day trip. The employees are passionate about the place and I didn't catch any type of tour but I imagine that would make it more interesting.
