We were satisfied with other YMT tours in the states. Not happy with the land tour in Italy. Tours were to big and made our tour almost impossible to enjoy. Our guide on land was good but I think YMT made it harder for them with such big groups. Again totally enjoyed the cruise which we could have booked on our own.

My Fall foliage trip to Boston, then cruising to Nova Scotia and Portsmouth then up to Quebec and Montreal were awesome. The weather was terrific and we did actually some some of the leaves turning! We came back down thru the Green Mountains of Vermont and ending up touring Boston. Our cruise was terrific and hotels were wonderful as were the extra excursions. My tour director, Bruce, was from the Boston area and was so helpful and a terrific guide as was our bus driver. I will definitely return to this beautiful area.

My wife and I have taken a river cruise on the a-rosa Viva boat on the Rhine river, which started in Bonn, Germany, went up North to Amsterdam and the back South to Cologne in September 2016. We took just river part of the cruise. We were absolutely impressed how good this trip was. The ship was very clean, food was perfect, the crew spoke many different languages , the host Ivette Storm was very knowledgeable, she spoke perfect English, and her lectures before every city helped tremendously. Even the weather was unusually worm, sunny, and without rain. I can't find any dis satisfactory event, everything was perfect. Sounds unusual, but that's true.

I went to Cuba at the end of March to April 2016 for 8 days with John Kobelt and his lovely family (wife and 3 teen-age boys). Everyone was so kind and helpful. I listen to John & Ken every day and they are so funny. People either love them or hate them.

Our YMT Tour Manager, Celiece Reid from Costa Rica, was extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Cuba: government, politics, social life, local customs. I did not realize it until I asked for her business card on our last day that she is ITMI Certified. I have taken the month-long (8 hours a day) International Tour Management Institutes course and it is very tough. She was able to resolve the few problems we had.

Also, our Local Guide took very good care of us. She had been to the U.S. and studied here. She is married to a Chinese and also leads Chinese-language tours. Everyone who lives there seems to be satisfied with the "status quo" of their Socialist-Communist" government (because they don't know any difference). Even though most are very poor, the folks are exceedingly nice and happy, singing and dancing and sharing whatever they have.

The highlight for me was the night we went in the old American cars, following one another through the streets, honking and screaming. I only regret that I chose the lesser cost nightclub instead of the $100 Tropicana show. It was so very loud in the venue (don't even remember the name) and just singing and not enough dancing girls.

YMT tour managers need to warn travelers (I should know better) to NOT EAT the raw vegetables. We were given bottled water to drink by YMT. The last night we had very slow service at the (not very good) restaurant (not our choice). We had had a large (included) lunch so I didn't want much for dinner (I should have just ordered coffee and had one of my protein bars. The next day I was unable to go on the Market Tour and stayed in bed at the hotel all day and I was sick for 2 weeks after I came home.

God bless John and his wife and sons as they were a big help to me with luggage at the airport. The two all-inclusive hotels we stayed at were great with good food and service. I even had a wonderful Chinese massage (at the first hotel) by a Cuban who had only been doing it for 5 years. Previously, he had worked as a street musician playing trumpet. He is married to an Attorney and he travels for 2 hours every day to get to his job and works 12 hours for 4 days.

Would I go back? YES, but maybe on a cruise. I love Cuba and its people and would love to !
