DO NOT GO HERE.The experience with these people was a nightmare. The so called shop manager was unprofessional. .rude.and blamed me for their screw up when they overfilled my oil.BY QUARTS..blowing off my oil cap. For the amount of what they say they charge for their hourly rate (100$ an hr/120$ an hr for eletrical ) .no one charges extra for eletrical.you can take it to the dealership. Sitting in the waiting area listening to him scream obsinaties while the mechanics chain smoked. Never even offered an up an apology until the end.knowing I was highly upset still sarcastically telling me to have a good day as I was getting into my car. Being in the service industry myself I am apalled by this man's behavior and will be sure to pass the word on never go here
I would never take my car to Express Lube and Brakes again.
I live in Tennessee and was in Ft. Myers in July and took my 2005 Honda CRV car to Express Lube & brakes with what I believed to be a bad battery. It was having to be jumped off every time it was started.
The supervisor asked me how old the battery was and I told him I didn't know as I bought it used. He said it wasn't the battery but needed a new alternator. $957.00 later I had a new alternator, plugs, oil change, etc. I don't think they even checked the battery to see if it was bad. Two weeks later my car wouldn't start.
I don't live here full time. When I came back to Ft. Myers in October, I took my car to Auto Zone and they tested the battery and it was bad, so then I spent another $100 for a new battery.
I was charged for a lot of parts at Express Lube and Brakes that I didn't need and all I needed was a battery., which is what I asked them to check and put in a new battery. I was taken by a bunch of money-hungry mechanics that saw a single female who didn't know anything about a car.
Please if you feel you are being given a bunch of hog-wash by these guys, take your care somewhere else to have it checked first.
This has been one of the best services I have ever received. I came in not knowing what was going on with my car they were able not only explain but even show me with details what was happening to my vehicle. I will never forget their kindness and patience with me. I am not savvy with cars and the amount of time they took with me will never be forgotten. I was so scared and worried I need my car to get to work and to take care my son. They helped me out so much words can never say how much I appreciate them. Unlike other car places they see a women a try to up sell everything. They told me what I needed and what I needed in the future to keep my car running smoothly. The best car shop in town hands down.
What can I say about these guys that would tell you how great they are. I was greeted by Chris and he told me he would take care of me. And that is exactly what he did. You know how hard it is to find a mechanic that you can trust especially if you are a female. But he ( they ) made me feel at ease right away. And have been so great to me every since the first day I walked in to the shop. I have been looking for a mechanic every since I moved to the area 4 years ago. And I believe that I have found my guys. If you are looking for some honest guys that do great work. these are your guys!
Be careful to write down the name of each employee who promises you a service there. A few months ago, I had an oil change and asked the manager to check my front brakes. He said I had "5-6 months left". I came in two months later and the rotors had to be replaced. I would have had the pads replaced in advance. Their mistake cost me $150 at least. I let this one slide. Recently, I needed a side mirror replaced. They told me to order the part on my own and they would send it to their body shop to be painted for $50. I brought it in today and the other manager asked me to take the mirror to their body shop. He didn't have an address but tried to give me verbal directions.take a left on Pine Ridge, then a right. I told him about my brake experience and that they had promised to take the mirror to the body shop. He said, who promised this? Then, he didn't have the manpower to take the part to the body shop. My Dad has been using them for over five years. We aren't going back.
